Cylus adored Ash, even with her wigs and prosthetics, he just loved being around her, and anytime she shed her fake skin for him, he increasingly felt like he needed to make her his, but she had been distant since Willow had her baby. Unlike with other women, Cylus continuously reminded her that he would wait, and because of the situation between President Lee and Mina, the woman came home, but their relationship was not the same. They argued over insignificant things, and now, he was doubting their future.
"Why don't you just leave? It would be so much easier if I knew that you didn't care at all, but when you come back, you give me hope; I don't want to be in love with a dream." Ash took two steps back, afraid but also relieved.
"What did you say?"
"I shouldn't have said it that way." Cylus knew that Ash would run away the minute he told her how he really felt, and it was the only reason he had not already proposed to her.
