****Completed, but under revision.**** ***SUPER SLOW BURN MATURE 18+*** After struggling her way through university, Mina Harlow, a top tier graduate (and literal genius), with the aspiration of lifting her family out of poverty, was still living in the slums, taking odd jobs to earn a living. All of her hard work had been for nothing and her life is cast into turmoil because she offended the wrong Miss from a prominent family. Desperate to for her next source of income, Mina aligns herself with the wrong people, and finds herself amid several conspiracies that keep becoming more and more confounded by misunderstandings. She is mistaken for a spy, by one of the most influential families in the country and held captive as the confusion, mishaps and misunderstandings build up all around her. Under the extreme circumstance, Mina is thrown into despair, hatred and love all that the same time, but will the experience break her or make her ‘better?’ (This story is set in a fictional, modern day patriarchal society on the brink of a shift public opinion on the 'role' of the woman.) Excerpt: "Why are you crying?" "Because I'm stupid," Mina replied. The man laughed sarcastically. "I disagree. I think you are a very smart girl." "Being smart does not mean you can not be stupid." Who told her she was a genius anyway? ***THIS IS AN ADULT STORY WITH AN ADULT THEME. THERE IS VIOLENCE AND IMPLIED VIOLENCE. THERE IS ROMANCE IN THIS STORY, BUT IT IS NOT EXACTLY A LOVE STORY. ***

Chapter 510: We Need to Talk-2

Mina was able to control the onset of a panic attack with Connor's help. After he got her to breathe naturally, he told her that the blood on Oric's face likely did not belong to him. She knew it was cruel to be relieved that the blood was someone else's, but thinking that it came from Jeremy, Mina was okay with it. She wanted to see Willow right away, but Cylus told her that she would better serve her friend if she created a distraction.

Believing that her actions were crucial, Mina was able to behave almost normally. She gave closing remarks telling everyone to enjoy the rest of their evening, as she walked around the room, greeting the people she had not met with, trying to give Oric time to flee with Willow without an audience.

Connor was busy bringing water to the storage room, while Cylus found a way to sneak paramedics in through a kitchen door. Jeremy was alive, but the medic informed those around that the man was in serious condition. It took a full forty-five minutes to end the evening, and finally Cylus was able to come to check on Mina the way she knew he had been wanting to. Vanya was also lingering around, and Mina made it a point to thank the woman for her patience.

Mina thought she was being kind by acknowledging Vanya, but the woman snapped at her instead. She accused her of using Connor to make Cylus jealous, and in response all Mina could do was laugh. She had no interest in the man, but she could not explain it to Vanya, and she was done trying to explain herself to green women.

Fortunately, Ash was around, so Mina's words were unnecessary. The woman was great at antagonizing people; it was a hobby she had taken interest in after she met Mina, who was often ridiculed for her clothing choice, giving no response to defend herself. Back then, Ash had asked Mina why she never spoke up, and Mina confidently quipped that her words would be lost on the ears of the ignorant.

From that moment, Ash started to use the statement as a comeback, and she often pestered Mina for new insulting words that were less well known. By that time, Mina had already befriended Willow, who was mocked by others, and Ash became their mouth. Eventually Ash's behavior rubbed off on Willow, who seemed to have no shame. It was then that their trio became inseparable.

"You speak as if you are the only woman to begin with," Ash said mockingly, and Vanya's chest flared in rage. "Stop behaving like a bird. If there is doubt in your mind concerning that man, then you should address it with him, not Mina." Vanya wanted to reply, but she could not. Cylus had already admitted that Mina was the reason she was even given a title, and yet, his reasoning was unclear.

"You must think your friend is innocent. Cylus is not the only taken man she is after." Ash looked at Mina with a raised eyebrow, then back at Vanya.

"So what?" Vanya's mouth hung open at the response. She stormed away and Mina couldn't help but to giggle until Ash turned to face her with a serious expression.

"President Lee?" She asked, and Mina flatly denied it.

"Paul," Mina replied, making Ash's eyes go wide.

Olivia stripped out of her dress and crawled on top of Peter who was looking at her with hungry eyes. She had left the event early because she wanted to spend time with the man. When Mina was missing, their meetings became brief and fleeting, but she couldn't wait any longer. She needed him and he needed her.

With their bodies connected, Olivia rubbed on the man. Allowing herself to enjoy the way he felt, and the way he made her feel. It was not too long ago that he told her that he did not like when a woman was on top, but She had changed his mind quickly. Olivia watched the man's eyes close in pleasure as she moved faster and faster. She could feel the buildup of ecstasy within her, and she begged Peter to hold on, knowing that he was also close from the way that he bit his bottom lip.

Seconds later the man was panting heavily, warning her to stop, but she was so close that she didn't want to. Olivia watched Peter's head thrust back as he grimaced, a face that would otherwise be a turn off if she hadn't already seen it so many times. She increased the speed of her movements, and felt the onset of her climax, but before it could be fully reached, Peter pulled her off his body, releasing himself onto his own stomach while Olivia flopped to the side of him and pouted.

"Are you angry?" he asked after catching his breath and shifting his body to hug her.

"You finished without me," Olivia complained. Peter chuckled and kissed the woman's ear.

"It's not like we can't do it again." Olivia turned to face the man, looking deeply into his eyes to make sure she made herself clear; yet again.

"I have already explained things to you. I already took a huge risk coming here tonight and I need to get back before my cousin suspects me. Especially if he is the one to take Mina home." Peter laid back in the bed feeling annoyed by Olivia's words, but aware they were true. He watched her stand up and begin to dress herself.

"So, are you saying that I will never get to wake up next to you?"

"Peter," Olivia responded in a pleading tone.

"I'm sorry," he replied, standing to hug her.

"Mina is back now. I will try to push for 4AM, but no promises." Peter kissed Olivia deeply and she knew he was trying to seduce her into staying longer. She pulled away from the man and glared at him. "I will be back tomorrow," she promised.

Mina did not go back to her apartment. She suddenly felt creeped out by the thought that Cameras could be installed in her private areas and President Cameron could be watching her. She instead went back to Ash's hotel, but Cylus was unhappy with where the woman was staying, so he booked a room in a more upscale place for both women to sleep. Vanya was sitting in the front next to Cylus as he made the arrangement, and Ash, who had not stopped watching the woman, decided to antagonize her a little further.

"Now would be the perfect time to have that conversation."

"What conversation?" Cylus asked, using his rearview to stare at Ash. His expression was annoyed, and Mina could tell he was still unhappy that she refused to stay at his familial home with Olivia.

"Nothing much; your girlfriend is just feeling a little insecure at the moment." Vanya glared back at Ash, who shrugged, not realizing the storm she had just summoned.

"Vanya?" Cylus said the woman's name as a question, and she responded accordingly.

"I am having a tough time believing that you and Mina are just friends." Ash scoffed at the woman's response.

"I understand and I know it is my fault for making you feel that way, but we talked about this."

"I trust you," Vanya said. "I just don't trust her," she whispered. Cylus did not want to continue their conversation around strange company, so he decided to skip it until he and Vanya were alone.

"Well; that was a half-assed talk." Ash stared at Cylus, who kept his eyes focused on the road while ignoring her provocation.

Settled into their new accommodation. The first thing the women did was call Willow, who was still awake. When they told her they had gotten a hotel, she asked for the address, and arrived shortly after, wearing men's clothing that was far too big for her.

"We need to talk," Ash said, and Willow rolled her eyes having just avoided the same phrase.
