When Lisa came down for breakfast, she was greeted by the sight of her brother affectionately rubbing his wife's protruding belly. He was lovingly saying something to the growing life inside. Lisa smiled as she tapped her own belly. So far there was no news, but she had full faith in a good outcome. She had nearly shredded the rubber with the number of holes she poked, and the medication she was taking assured it had been the prime time to try.
Lisa had been following a fertility expert's advice from the moment she hatched her plan and while she knew they only needed to do it once, the doctor advised her that she should try to do it again. She wanted to try that night of the gathering, but Ian refused her advances, saying that he would not touch her while she was drunk. Lisa had herself to blame for that, she had only had grape juice the entire night, but when she saw how there were other people using their drunkenness as an excuse to be clingy, she wanted to play along too.
Lisa thought about Mina's reaction to her actions in the car back then. The girl's discomfort was satisfying to watch that she did not care who else was looking. So long as Mina knew who Ian belonged to, there would be no problem.
----
Kace was startled by the appearance of his sister.
"How long have you been standing there?" He asked.
"Long enough," Lisa replied. Kace slid a file folder in his sister's direction.
"These were sent to me today," he said, casting his wife a sidelong glance. Charlotte tactfully left the room and Lisa picked up the folder. Inside, there were several photos of Mina and President Lee entering a hospital together. Lisa's mind immediately headed in one direction.
"I'm sure there is an explanation for this," she said, and her brother nodded.
"For your sake, I hope so," he said. "Be ready to leave in two hours. We have important matters to discuss."
----
Lisa's mind was reeling as she entered her bedroom. Why would her Ian be taking another woman to the hospital? She picked up her phone and called Luna.
"Hey, are you busy?" Lisa said.
"I'm out of the country, what's up?"
"Your brother and Mina, are you sure there is nothing?" Luna was silent. She had made a bet with her nan concerning Lisa and the next time she called.
"Lisa, the only time you call me, is to find out about Ian. I am out of the country. If you want to speak to my brother, call him directly." Luna ended the call. She felt terrible for hanging up on Lisa, but she was angry that her nan had been right. Luna's phone rang again, and she answered without speaking.
"I'm sorry," Lisa said abruptly. "It's just that someone sent me some photos." Lisa spent the next several minutes describing the photos to Luna who listened with a blank expression on her face. "Please forgive me. I have been busy trying to help my brother with the takeover. I woke up to these photos, and you are the only person I could think to call." Luna felt guilty for jumping to conclusions.
"It's nothing you have to worry about," Luna said. "But do you know who sent them?"
----
Ian was watching a very fatigued and pale looking Mina force down her breakfast. The girl wore a determined expression and other than a quick good morning, she had not said a word to him. The tip of her nose was red, and Ian knew she was probably feeling under the weather. His Nan had tried to convince the girl to stay in bed, but she insisted upon meeting Dom. The mere mention of that man's name irked Ian and helped curb the desire he had to make conversation.
After his folly last night, Ian truly planned to let Mina live her life. Zane had put things into a prospective he had not thought of. Perhaps, Dom held the same feelings for Mina that Drax had for Mills.
Ian's phone buzzed and it was a message from his sister. He had already vaguely filled her in on what happened, so he knew if she were contacting him again, it was for something else.
[Call your girlfriend.]
The message was to the point but carried a certain amount of weight to it. In all that was going on, Ian had forgotten to check in on Lisa.
Ian was about to excuse himself from the table when he heard Mina whisper something to his nan.
"Were you able to get those things for me?" She said, and the old woman nodded.
"I already gave them to Ian," she replied. Mina's face grew red. She looked at President Lee who, in turn, left the room without a word.
----
Mina was shocked when she heard Miss Ruby say she gave her personal items to President Lee, and she did not know what the man was planning to do with them. He had indirectly caused her to be humiliated by her enemy last night, and now he was holding onto her things. Mina knew that the man had disliked when people were kind to her, but was he so cruel that he wouldn't even allow his nan to do something simple for her? He probably wanted to see her beg for it.
'Too bad,' Mina thought. President Lee would not get the pleasure of seeing her give up. She was a resilient person and would make do with what she already had.
----
Dom waited in the foyer of the Lee mansion. His boss was giving him a death glare and it caused him to stand at attention.
"What are your plans with her?" He finally asked.
"Sir, we are just doing it for fun," Dom replied. President Lee narrowed his eyes.
"Does she know that?" He asked.
"Sir, she is the one who suggested it," Dom said.
Both men had no idea they were talking about two completely different types of exercise. Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of someone approaching.
When Ian turned around, his breath caught. Mina was wearing an overly fitted black tracksuit, with white stripes down the sides. Her luscious brown hair had been tied into a ponytail and it exposed the beautiful elegance of her neck. Her eyes sparkled as the light hit them, and the red tint to her nose was quite cute. However, it was not her face or neck that caught Ian's attention. It was her chest. As Mina hopped down the stairs, it bounced, and the tightness of her clothing made the movements obvious. He really hated it.
