"Wait, you managed to get a date with Echidna?! How?!" Jaune screamed at me in disbelief.

"Jaune, can you stop screaming while I'm literally in front of you!" I complained, it was annoying, it hurt my ears and gave me a mild headache. For the first time, I regretted having an enchanted sense, it could be a problem sometimes now I pity Zenitsu for her hearing talent.

Then I added, "It just happened Jaune, I didn't expect it either. Let's say that I have good timing."

According to her, I do.

"Wow, I can't believe it, I'm so jealous of you." Jaune stared at me with his blue eyes, though there wasn't any jealousy on it, for he was happy for me. Jaune follows the bro code after all.

"Don't be, you have girls who are interested in you." I hinted at him.

"Girls, that are interested in me? Pft- no way! That's impossible, look at me! I'm not someone special.." Jaune looked at his hands with a weary smile.

I looked at him with a dumb expression, and thought, 'Really? Not special? Dude! Like there are a few people who could beat you in this world and you say you're not special?! Shame on you!'

Little did they know that Makugo was listening to their conversation, she bit her thumb in frustration and screamed internally, 'What about me?! Jaune you can ask me on a date and I'll accept it anytime!'

Everyone from the group knew that I'm going on a date with Echidna. Each one had a different reaction. Archer didn't care, Lucifer was surprised she didn't expect this to happen but regardless she gave some advice to Echidna in private.

As old as she is, she has plenty of experience in dates and relationships, though she never had a serious relationship before, because she thought that there was no need to since she's literally immortal.

She wasn't in a hurry nor did she want it anyway, she had plenty of things to do.

I was waiting outside our establishment. I was a bit nervous honestly, although I'm experienced with dates, I can't get rid of my nervousness, especially knowing that I'm going on a date with a woman whose league is above me.

Nervously waiting for Echidna, before she arrived I looked at my outfit. I wasn't sure if I made the right choice of wearing a kimono rather than a tuxedo, but now I'm starting to regret it.

'Maybe, I should go back and wear it..' But soon my thoughts were cut off when I saw Echidna approaching me.

My entire body froze and the world to my eyes became slow-mo, like literally slow motion. Right now my eyes are focused solely on her figure.

Echidna wore a simple white piece dress, a choker that has a black kind of expensive gem in the middle, and white heels.

She looked like a goddess, every step she made took my breath away, everyone around was looking at her with awe, amazement.

It doesn't matter which sex they are, all of them admired her looks, now I'm regretting the fact that I wore this lame kimono.

As she got closer to me, her scent was something I couldn't describe, it was divine I'm not sure what kind of perfume she used but it perfectly blended with her.

She still wore her butterfly hairpin, though it only increased her attractiveness. As she got closer to me, she smiled a bit and said, "Do you like what you're seeing?"

I gulped and replied as I stared at her figure, "Yes…I do.."

There was no use lying, just by looking at her I was already satisfied I could end the date early, but that's just me who enjoyed it, not her.

"I see, so it was worth taking time to change into this." Echidna was pleased, as she got the reaction that she expected from me.

"Maybe, maybe I should go back and change my kimono to something else…" If she agrees I won't hesitate to go back and change my kimono into a tuxedo!

Echidna observed my outfit, before saying, "No need, you look good on it."

I frowned, and denied her claim, "You know, you don't have to lie about it."

Echidna went closer, as her face was just an inch closer to mine.

My heart skips a bit from her again, I feel like going crazy with her scent, her face! Everything! 

Echidna opened her mouth and replied, "Are you implying that I'm lying about it?"

"Y-yes..?" My face started turning red as her face was close to mine.

"To tell you, I'm not, you look good on it. I do not lie especially for something like this." There wasn't a single trace of lie or joking in her tone, she genuinely thinks that I look good with kimono.

I coughed silently, and said, "Thank you.."

Echidna's smile returned from her face, gods she's beautiful, and replied, "You're welcome, now let's start our date Blake~"

She winked at me, as she did I felt like my brain rebooted, who taught her that move?! 

The last time I checked winking wasn't something that was known in Rezero world, especially when it was 400 years before the canon started.

"R-right, let's go my lady?" I wasn't sure if this would work, but I wish it does it would be awkward.

I moved my hand toward her, and whether she would take it or not, it was her decision.

Echidna blinked once, before taking my hand with her beautiful smile, "We shall."

After feeling her smooth and soft hand, I felt like I reached nirvana.

Then we started our date.

I believe that lady luck is smiling at me today, because what are the chances of having a date at a festival without actually knowing it?

It wasn't part of my plan, but now it did while holding hands with her, which she didn't deny nor ask me to stop.

We went to a lot of vendors around the place, there were a lot of them selling street food, and good thing that none of us ate dinner yet.

Though there were a lot of missing food that you often see in anime mostly rom-com ones, that aren't available in this era yet.

This makes sense, 100 years is a long time there would be a lot of changes then.

As for the games at the festival, there are a few and some that I don't recognize because it may be lost or wasn't just a popular festival game in the future.

But regardless we played all of the games available at the festival, it was the point to have fun plus we aren't really lacking money.

Heck, we could even buy the country for our own, but the only reason why we didn't is that it's a pain in the ass, none of us are really interested in running a country too much work, especially politics too many two-faced backstabbers.

One can't run a country alone, after all, no one can do it alone without ruining it.

After exactly 10:00 PM we look above the sky to see the fireworks, honestly, I didn't know fireworks existed in this timeline.

I wasn't someone that likes digging the past, unlike girls, heh.

Anyway, I'm not good at Japanese history unless it's popular.

In anime, at this moment is when we are supposed to kiss and get interrupted by some mob or whatever kind of crap it is.

But no, none of us planned on kissing, realistically it's impossible for us to get interested romantically just because of some date.

We just held hands until the fireworks ended, after that our hands separated both of us were silent for a moment, as we enjoyed the silence.

A few minutes later, Echidna said, "So this is a date, it's more enjoyable than I expected."

"Yeah, it is." I enjoyed it, and I will admit that this date was a guy hundred times better than the first date with my ex.

At least Echidna enjoyed my company, unlike my ex who just wanted free everything from the date.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter where you go, what matters is who you are with and the date would be enjoyable.

Then after the date, we went back to our restaurant while talking about random things, they are pointless, yes, but talking with the right person who actually pays attention makes it interesting and fun.

Before going inside, Echidna leans closer to me and kissed my cheeks, and said, "I have enjoyed our date, Blake. Next time hopefully it'd be the same."

Then she left me outside, and I couldn't help but grin at her words, meaning she's okay with going on another date with me next time.
