Gray's gaze darted between Eva and Vatu, his confusion mounting as the tension between the two escalated. Turning to Agape, he whispered lightly, "What the hell is going on here? What's this 'debt' she's talking about?"
Agape sighed deeply, his large frame seeming to sag under the weight of the truth. "It's a long story, Gray, but you deserve to know."
Gray crossed his arms, his voice sharp. "Then start talking."
Agape hesitated, glancing at Eva's trembling form. Finally, he spoke in a low tone. "When we were trapped inside Sayo the Undying, hope was almost gone. Vatu—the werewolf and leader of the Hidden Water Drop Town—approached Eva. She was the only one strong enough to find a way to break Sayo's hold on the imprisoned supernaturals. Vatu begged her to save them."
Gray frowned. "Eva? Helping supernaturals? She hates them all."
