Chapter 8

March 13.

Waking up from her alarm in the morning, Anna swept her eyes trying to get a clear view of her room. Recalling her dreams last night, she can't help from trying very hard to recall what had happened in her dream. While she was still stuck in the dream, Anna's phone rang again notifying her of the incoming message.

"Ding!"

Leaning to the wall, Anna opens her old phone by entering the password before directly click on the notification at the toolbar.

Prof- Class will be postponed today, I'll cover it later the next week.

Sighing, Anna closes her phone and crushing down on her bed. It had only been the second day of the class, but Anna already feeling exhausted. Not because of the class, but because of the lecturers. Since she is currently in her last year, she always wanted to perform well in her final thesis, however, by the time she wanted to discuss it with the professor, the class had first canceled after the first meeting yesterday.

'What I should do today? Maybe I can spend my day at the library as before.'

After deciding her mind in using her spare time at the library, Anna stretches her body and starts to clean all the containers that belong to Sister Jane. Last night, she had been too engrossed in her mind until she missed the time to wash all the containers. Since she no longer needs to work fast, Anna did all her things slowly, however, she was still able to finish cleaning and tidying her room in less than ten minutes as usual.

The two steel lunch boxes were being embraced by Anna as to not let them slide down in case there is a problem with the handle. Locking the door, Anna walks slowly to the stairs going down to the ground floor's restroom which specially builds for visitors wanting to wash it there. The sun that is yet to be seen only gives a slight color to the sky making it look more beautiful. The spring this year seems to make the night longer than the daylight.

Pushing the doors open, Anna walks straight to the restroom which is only at five meters away from where she stood. Although the sky was still covered by little light, the bustling sound that come from the outside had proof that is already a new day for everyone.

"Anna? Don't you have class today?"

A familiar voice that come from her front caused Anna's head to look up from the ground. Her hand stiff after she saw the owner of the voice walk slowly to her.

"No, my class had been canceled this morning."

"I see. Then, had you taken your breakfast yet?"

Sister Jane's question struck her dumb, although she knows that the middle-aged woman is kind towards her, Anna had never expected the woman to care for her to this extend. Never she dares to dream of getting the woman favor from the past to the present.

"It's okay Sister Jane, I can have my breakfast on my way to the library."

Listening to Anna's refusing words, Sister Jane's eyes were shaken slightly. Only if Anna didn't avoid looking at people's eyes, for sure she will notice the sadden feeling that Sister Jane's eyes had shown after she said the refusing words. Sensing the awkward moment, Sister Jane quickly tries to hide her feeling and changing the topic to make the girl less uncomfortable.

"Are you going to return it to me?"

Hearing Sister Jane's question, Anna jolted a bit starting to feel panic. She had forgotten about the containers after she keep on thinking about finding the suitable words to refuse Sister Jane's kindness in the future. Anna's palm begins to sweat while her eyes keep on shaking making her body shrink smaller. Sister Jane who noticed the changes begins to feel lost recalling whether she had said something that make the young girl feel uncomfortable.

Feeling more panic, Anna's body begins to tremble obviously. All of her past memories of losing the one who cares about her surges into her brain. Right now, the only thing that keeps on playing inside her mind is the scenes in which her mother left her while her father abandoned her. The scenes keep on changing from the moment she is being cared for to the moment she is being punished and beaten by her father continued.

Sister Jane who witnesses Anna's strange reaction started to call her repeatedly, trying to make the girl wake up from anything that hold her to the extent. The steel lunch boxes had long fall on the floor making a clanging sound echoed in the hallway. Knowing that Anna having a panic attack and was unable to gain consciousness, Sister Jane quickly come forward and holding Anna to prevent the young girl from falling down on the floor.

It might take a short time after the panic attack attacked Anna in the public eyes, however for Anna, it had taken her like an eternity because her mind keeps on flooding with all scenes from her childhood till her adolescence before she is being kicked out from the mansion. Countless scenes keep on repeating making her body tremble furiously with her breath shorten before the dizziness come and attack her shutting her brain down collapsing her body's function.

The only thing that Anna sees before her mid blanked was a scene where her father turns his head away from looking at her before the mansion's door was closed by her stepmother. Sister Jane who holding Anna can't help from shouting for help. One of man who walking towards the elevator stop to help them, carrying the young girl on his back, Sister Jane brought the man and the young girl to her house on the fourth floor using the elevator.

"What happens?"

"I'm not sure, while we are talking, she suddenly trembled and shaking before passed out just like you saw just now."

The elevator keeps on going up changing the number, Sister Jane and the guy can't help from feeling anxious afraid there will be some illness that the girl have which causing her to have a drastic reaction.

"Or should we just send her to the hospital?"

Arrived on the fourth floor, the man said that to Sister Jane before both of them walk out from the elevator. Thinking seriously, Sister Jane ponders a little before shaking her head rejecting the guy's proposal.

"She lived alone on the second floor, I don't think she will feel relieved if we send her to the hospital."

Unlocking her door, Sister Jane gives the man a space to walk inside before closing the door and walk into the living room.

The man put the young girl on the couch carefully, seeing her sweating all over her body with her face paled, the man feel pity.

"I lived her to you then."

"Yes, thank you for helping me."

Taking over, Sister Jane walk the man out and locking the door. Walking back to the living room, the middle-aged woman sighs quietly and walking to the kitchen to get the girl some water. Anna who laying down on the couch with her body full of sweat started to knit her eyebrows. Her body temperature rises one degree causing her to have a slight fever. It seems like the nightmare had started to fill inside her mind again.
