Chapter 4

March 12.

In the evening, after Anna finished organizing all the books at the library and cleaning all the bookshelves that she didn't clean yesterday, Anna starts to push the trolley aside on the second floor. The library will only be closed at 8 o'clock in the evening, however, Anna still needs to do her task quickly before she can do her assignment or any homework left by the lecturer. Since she works at the library, all the books inside were used to it's maximum. The clock that hangs at the wall shows that currently, it is already 6.30 pm, without wasting any more time, Anna went downstairs and sit at the counter doing her homework.

After half hour the doorbell rang welcoming visitors, but instead of glaring at the door, Anna just bows her head down immersed in the paper on the desk.

"Hi, where can I find astronomic books?"

Sometimes some students will come and hangs out here at the library, but since most of them come from high school the only things that they did was sitting in the library and doing some revision or completing their homework. It is very rare to sees someone who comes from a university or any college at the library, and this is also one of the reasons why Anna stays still looking at the owner of the voice who currently standing high in front of the counter.

"Excuse me?"

Anna who quickly regains her composure reply to the boy directly. Although she feels ashamed from staring at the boy, Anna still acts professionally treating the boy as a customer as what the head librarian had taught.

Smiling, the boy repeats his question. As a librarian who had read almost all the books located on the second floor, for sure will know where the book is located at. Giving a direction to the boy, Anna resumes her work on the paper where she left when answering the boy's question.

The boy who wore a black coat walking upstairs according to Anna's direction. With his bag slides on his left shoulder, the boy looks back to the counter, seeing the librarian continue doing her work, the boy's eyes continue focusing on his steps to the second floor. Heading to the third row at his right side, the boy walking straight until he finds the code that he is looking for. Since Anna finished cleaning and arranging all the books on the second floor, the boy quickly found the book about astronomical technic which he needs to complete his assignment.

"Here you are! I have been looking around for you, did you find the book?"

The boy nods his head to the girl. Both of them had been spending their time in the library looking for the book, not only both of them finding it in their separate ways. However, thanks to the librarian he was finally able to find it. the girl only lends towards the bookshelf looking at the boy with a questioning look.

"What's the matter?'

"Nothing. Let's go, I treat you a dinner at the opposites café as my thanks for today."

Seeing her best friend didn't want to answer by changing the topic, the girl just let it pass. Agreeing to the invitation the pair walk down together and head to the counter for completing the borrowing procedure. The stairs that connected the two floors not only give a full view of the first floor but also can give a full view of the outsides of the library too. Glancing to the café at the opposites of the library the boy releases a breath of relief, fortunately, the café is still open. Withdrawing his vision, the boy's eyes suddenly stop at the counter. The girl still has her head down doing her task, flashback to the time he meets the girl's eyes the boy suddenly feels like he had met her before.

"Excuse me, we would like to borrow this book for a week. Can we?"

The girl with her hair tied in a ponytail stood steadily in front of the counter. Hearing the voice, Anna quickly put her work aside since there are only two tasks left before she finished everything. Looking at the fine girl with tanned skin, Anna grabs the book and move to the computer on her left side.

"Is there anything else?"

Sweeping the book at the end of the pages, Anna asks the question to the girl but since the two of them only need the book and not else the girl answers with a no while the boy behind her back keep on looking at Anna. The two of them just stand there watching Anna the librarian completing the borrows procedure, while Anna keeping her head low didn't dare to look up and just focusing on the screen after notice the gaze from the two strangers in front of her. The more she is aware of the gazes the more nervous resulting in her hands shaking.

The boy and the girl notice the changes, feeling guilty the girl who stands in front of the counter looks back to the boy behind her back while sending the questioning eyes with her right eyebrows turn up a little, noticing the look the boy shaking his head giving his answer. Finished giving their details, Anna quietly thanks the girl while explaining all rules and giving the girl the library number just in case. Done with her job, Anna continues keeping all the things that she used back into the small drawer and print's out the girl's detail before putting them into a file leaving her customer alone.

Sensing that's the end of the conversation, both of them walk out from the library heading to the café. Through the window, Anna just looks at the two while making a note inside her head to always being professional while doing her task as the librarian, so she won't invite trouble to herself. Just taking today's interaction between her and the two customers, she feels a sudden crisis rise inside her heart afraid of the two of them will find her weird and will pay attention to her.

Finished taking notes to herself, Anna continues with her work while occasionally helping the customers with books and completing the borrowing procedure. Since there is only an hour left before the closing time, Anna keeps writing with her hand fast trying to finish her assignment with her head bowed down.

The pair of dark eyes that hide at the corner squint a little bit making the eyes look even fiercer. If someone notices the eyes all they can see is a pair of eyes with huge resentment that can make other legs shaken due to feeling scared.

"These people!"

With heavy cold accompany by the darkness, the pair of eyes switch it's visions to Anna who currently sitting quietly at the desk doing her assignment, it only disappears blending into the darkness when the girl started to notice it stare.

Anna who was struck dumb by the sudden chill stopping her hand from writing her final word on the paper. Finishing her work at a fast speed, Anna the grab her hoody and wear it before started to keep and organizing the documents since there is only half an hour left. At 8.00 pm sharp, the library closed its door leaving the three librarians inside to finished their last job. With a goodbye from each of them, Anna walks herself under the dim light from the side road to her room about fifty meters from the library.
