Edward’s Surprise

Apparently, Edward also noticed the difficult expression on the teacher's face, but he only perceived one aspect - that this teacher needed his uncle. Instantly, he decided to capitalize on it.

The teacher interrupted in a hushed voice, "Sorry, Edward, keep your voice down and your head low." With that, he propelled Edward forward out of the woods, while the other teacher addressed the crowd of students, "Mr. Gordon is escorting the suspect back to campus. No need to follow!"
