Tears pooled in my eyes, and I cupped my hand over my mouth. I knew leaving Jax was going to be hard on him, but part of me had hoped he'd be able to heal. Granted, I'd only been gone a couple of weeks, but to know he was miserable? That was worse than not knowing how he was doing at all.

"Does anyone have any idea why he's here and now the leader of a coven?" Sophie asked, tone full of shock.

I shook my head. "They're planning something," I whispered. "That's the only explanation that makes sense."

Though I couldn't figure out what plan would involve Isach ascending to the throne and leading the former Rose Coven. Was there more going on that we didn't know about? That was a good possibility considering we'd been secluded from the rest of the world for a little over two weeks now.

"You heard what he said. We need to make allies," Sabella said as she glanced around. "Where do we start?"
