Chapter 39 : Psychic Damage

"Damien I can't make you understand because even I don't understand what actually happened and I don't know why you are seeing a dragon or whatever you saw" she replied

"but you do know something that I don't" Damien asked

"yes I do I know about your strong magic and your limitless abilities" she replied

"what do you know about my magic" Damien asked looking at her with full attention

"you where just three months old when you where playing around with one of my father's old grimoire and then when you opened it and stared at the pages your eyes had a spark of flames in them it was clear but it wasn't sharp and you had this look in your eyes it was filled with knowledge of the grimoire and before I could take it from you your mouth opened a a massive amount of flames escaped from it you where not human anymore you looked more like a beast than a boy it was terrifying you burnt the whole village that day " she said with a sad expression on her face

"and you took the blame so no one will know it was me" Damien replied

"I had to what was I going to say that my son burnt the village down with his mouth flames and a spell he isn't meant to know if I had done that they would have taken you away from me and I never wanted that" she replied rubbing Damien's head

"and that was how you knew I had strong magic" Damien retorted

"you have the strongest magic i have ever heard of your grandfather said you where a special star he said you had no limit in your power"she replied

"do you think I got this strength from my father" Damien asked

"yes you might have gotten it from your dad but I still think it is fully just you cause your dad was a lowborn like i was so what difference can that actually make "she answered

"so you don't know anything about the dragons i keep seeing" Damien asked curious of what else his mother knew about

"no but i am sure your grandfather will know" she replied looking at him

"what but I have never seen him before how do you want me to know him "Damien asked

"he would know you but if you don't want to go it is fine but I do suggest you go so you would get your answers" she replied getting up.

"I would love to go but I can't go now they are most likely looking for us and separating would be bad" Damien replied

"well it up to you I have told you what I know" she replied as she picked up her basket and went in search of herbs and food leaving Damien

Damien was still sitting on the log when he felt something happening in his head. gripping his head he felt a high sense as he looked through the person's eyes he saw a grimoire immediately he knew that the person who did this would be able to see through his eyes to so he quickly closed his eyes and channeled a massive psychic wave into his mind creating a massive psychic cage trapping both him and the intruder as he fell into a daze.

Back at the palace Penelope had casted a spell that linked her conciousness to Damien's but five seconds after entering his conciousness she got attacked as a massive psychic wave flung her and trapped her in Damien's subconscious as she found out that she couldn't leave Damien's subconscious.

"Penelope" Damien yelled looking at the intruder in his mind

"how did you do this why can't I leave your subconscious" Penelope asked

"well that is what you get for trying to attack my mind" he replied "why are you here" Damien asked

"let me out Damien" she shouted

"well you know if you get injured here you would be injured wherever you are "Damien replied scaring her

"hmm you could try" Penelope replied

"I will" Damien said raising his hand as a bolt of lightning gathered round his hands

"tell me what are you doing here" Damien asked

"what are you going to get out of killing me Damien except angering my father" she replied causing Damien to lower his hands

"yes it will anger your father but now that you made this careless mistake I am sure that we could use you to our advantage" Damien said smiling

"hm really you do think lowly of my father Damien" Penelope answered "well you could try your way let's see how it turns out" she added looking at him

"well if we can't use you what need are you to us you

would only cause us more troubles" Damien said walking closer to her

At the palace Penelope's body was still in her room but her mind was not in it as she was trapped in Damien's subconscious it had been fifteen minutes since she had casted the spell that transported her conciousness into Damien's subconscious and she still wasn't out .The Emperor stood next to her as he wondered why she wasn't out yet he then held her as he tried to find out why she hadn't returned but as he touched her he immediately knew what had happened to her so he sent a heavy and powerful blast of psychic energy through her consciousness which was still in Damien's.

Damien was still trying to figure out how to make use of Penelope's stupid mistake when he was blasted which made him loose his control over his mental/psychic plain giving Penelope the chance to escape as she returned to her body with a huge gasp as her breathing increased

"what happened" her father immediately asked

"he was too strong psychically he caught on to me almost immediately and locked his subconscious mind so I wouldn't escape" she said " but how can he even do that " she asked looking up at her father

"he is definitely strong, stronger than you I might say" he replied

"he has about seventy spells I have a hundred and five" she countered

"and yet he trapped you in a mental cage" he replied

"I didn't get the chance to find out where they where" she responded changing the topic

"not to worry I know where they are" he replied as he turned and walked away
