Jack's Confession

The battle continued on for a long time until night.

We had to fall back since too many of our men were injured. Plus, we needed reinforcements, so we went by the nearest camp.

I still couldn't believe that Jack was even a spy. I wanted to get my hands on him and choke him to death. A truck parked by me. My thoughts flew away.

Commander Waxer came out the door. As he closed the door, many trucks with men came.

"Sir," I said. "When are we going to attack again?" Waxer looked at the distance. "That's what I'm trying to see. We got reinforcements. We got more supplies. My guess is probably tomorrow.

I nodded. I needed to do something first. Something caught my eye. Jack was walking, sweaty from the back of his head. He laid down his gun, and walked into the cabin.

I saw Glenn and Chief walking behind him. I followed. Jack washed his face with cold water. He breathed heavily. Suddenly, something clicked.

I faced my pistol at him, with Glenn and Chief right by me. Chief was there to collect his stuff, but me and Glenn knew what we were doing. "Whoa, whoa, whoa guys what is this?" Jack said. "I thought you'd know better," I said. "Perhaps, you weren't really on our side." Jack chuckled, "What makes you think you can incriminate me for a crime I didn't do?" "Then why did you try to kill me?" I asked him. Jack stammered. His mouth couldn't move. "We know you're a spy," Glenn said. "You even ordered one of your 'friends' to even choke me to death."

"Isn't this why you didn't like us?" I asked him. I walked forward to him facing my pistol at him.

Jack went backwards and doubled over onto his bed. "Give it up," I said. "Confess!" "I didn't do anything, what is the reason you have to decimate me!" Jack shouted. "Now, you're scared huh?" Glenn said. I pushed his throat. "Tell me, or your life ends."

Jack's tears flooded out his bright blue eyes. His legs moved like rolling tires. His screams of help filled the room. "Yes, you're right! I'm a spy!"

I let him go. "I'm a spy. I'm a spy," he said all over again. "I'm a spy. But please don't kill me. I don't want to be annihilated."

"Why should we not?" Glenn said. Jack affirmed, "I was forced to. It was when I was captured by the ruthless Germans. I escaped the camp, but got caught again. They said if I joined them, the Axis Powers, I could be saved. I joined them. I was sent to be a spy to see their plans. But you always blocked me from doing that. When I beat Glenn up, I only beat him up because there was something under that bed that could help them. I tried getting information until now. Since, I've been caught."

I looked at him temperamentally. Glenn looked at him in disbelief. He took out his walkie-talkie. Later that night, we saw Jack in the truck, tears streaming out of his eyes. He looked at us as if he was saying, 'I'm so sorry. Please please forgive me.'

"Where are they taking him?" I asked, Sarge. "They're taking him with other spies who tried to take information about us. They'll be meeting a firing squad to get rid of all the suspects...including him."

Sarge patted me in the back. "Only if I knew I was training a spy." Soon, everyone got the message. Jack was meeting a firing squad with the others, walking the path to death.
