Chapter Eight

It was like a waterfall was been produced by my face. I was half joking when I said I would fight this guy, Axy had told me that I was either very stupid or very brave to take on a second-year at the academy. Now I think I was on the stupid part.

We were standing in a field, it looked like it would be used for sports but instead of a rectangular shape, it was rounded in a perfect circle. I didn't think this through, what was I doing here?

When I agreed to the match, Rhyo led me and his friends to the academy immediately, which made me realize that this was a stupid decision on my part.

"Are we supposed to be here?, the school is not in session and I don't school here yet but I'm pretty sure we are not supposed to be here!!", I raised my voice so my opponent could hear me, he was standing farther from me dressed in an all-black suit of some kind, he turned to face me.

"Just relax it's fine, I told the guys to keep a lookout in case any of the disciplinary student members were patrolling, Axy will be our referee, just to make sure we don't kill each other".

Did he just say kill each other? I kept staring at him wondering why this guy was talking about us killing each other, as if he could read my thoughts he began his annoyingly hysterical laughter.

"Geez! man don't take it so seriously I'm just joking".

I didn't know much about this guy but I knew I wanted to hold him in my hands and squeeze until I got the humor out of him.

"Okay on my mark, I want a clean fair battle you hear me no funny business, I'm talking directly to you Rhyo", Axy instructed.

"Yeah yeah, hear ya", Rhyo replied.

How stupid could I be, here I was trying to fight someone who is a year ahead of me in magic when all I can do is summon a tiny dagger.

"Hey, Strig? I think I need your help, this was a really stupid decision", I tried to reach Strig but he wasn't responding.

I guess this is punishment for getting too excited because I got a little taste of power.

"Umm, could we go on a timeout I'm not feeling ready y...", I was interrupted mid-sentence by the fireball launched toward me that made me dive to the side. I landed on the ground and turned in surprise at the speed of the ruthless attack, I looked at Axy to see if she was as surprised as I was, but she was just staring at me like I was stupid for sitting on the ground confused, I tried to speak to her about the fairness of this fight but before I could say a word another fireball comes flying toward me, this time I was a bit late to react because it caught the tip of my shirt which set it on fire, making me struggle to take it off.

At this point, I was officially on my last nerve and another trigger would send me over the edge. I just stood there staring at him like I could burn a hole in his skull if my eyes could get hotter, and I felt my eyes burning.

I was thinking that maybe this was the anger since I haven't been this pissed off in my life, they were just toying with me and I didn't like the feeling.

"What's wrong bro, why are you just standing around this is getting boring!", Rhyo said as he charge up another fireball in his hand to throw at me.

As the third fireball left his hand and flew straight at me, I felt something snap, and then I blacked out.

"Casto! Casto! Casto!, my eyes shot open at the voice that I recognized as Strig's.

I was confused at what I was looking at, the ground was cracked and Rhyo was curled up in a corner staring at me with fear like I could bite his head off.

"What the hell Casto?!", I turned toward the voice to see Axy also looking at me with fear just like Rhyo was.

"What happened?", I asked still confused because I didn't understand what had occurred and how the fight turned into this.

"Casto there's something else in here with me, and it's creeping me out, it took over and that's when I woke up, if I were to guess I'd say you don't need to find the book of wrath it found you and your rage", Strig explanation made me understand the blackout but still not how it happened.

"I've been watching for some time now and I think I've had enough, you two are in for a good punishment". The male voice came from a dark side of the arena as the sun was now going down and darkness was taking over.

"Axy I will let you off with a warning since you are not directly involved in this recklessness". The Man that was now standing in the light said to Axy.

"Thank you Professor Alsh", and she turned and walked away from us.

"You Mr. Ryho I don't see how I can overlook your behavior, as someone who is ahead of them you should know better that both of you will be on clean-up duty for a month in the cafeteria when the semester begins", The Professor turned to walk.

"Excuse me I don't go to school here and you don't even know who I am", I said.

"Casto Rednik you were accepted on special conditions one is because your mother is one of the pioneers of this school, so for your information, you do go to school here. Now go home".

I was shocked because I hardly ever told anyone my real last name, mainly because I didn't want to be related to people that abandoned me, I always used Haz' last name Fyde. I was on punishment but I felt like the days of boredom in my life were officially over.
