Chapter 03 Changes

Recently I have felt that our bond is breaking little by little. We are not as close as we used to be. I don't want to lose their friendship; I don't want to lose anyone else.  While I'm here talking in my head I see my brother walking towards our table with a smirk; we are at lunch; with the three girls. A frown comes on my face and I turn to the twins, "what is going on?" "Since when are they friends?" to which the twins reply by shaking their heads with confusion on their faces. I watched their movements until they all sat at the table, we watching them and they watching us. I always sit between Cutter and James as it makes me feel secure and safe, people are cautious of them because they always look built, fierce and hardly smile when they are not with us. They keep fit for sports and they are great at what they do.

I was broken out of my thoughts by a question "what's for lunch?" asked by one of the girls. "You are all eating with us?" asked Cutter. "Yeah, if so why?" asked James. My brother face changes then from the smile that was there. He doesn't like them just because they are not afraid of him. I shivered when I feel his eyes on me and the twins hugged my shoulder not taking their eyes off him.

The girls know that i do not have the best relationship with him even if they don't know everything, so why are they with him? i asked myself internally feeling that something is wrong but can't put my finger on it. I just feel a great loss.

"So Demetri's party? Are we still going?" asked Kayla. I was so busy looking anywhere else that I missed the look that passed among them. The twins looked at me and I at them, they replied to my silent question that they be "ten minutes late the most". After an awkward lunch where everyone's attention was on our table, some with confusion and some with anger as my brother is popular, handsome and has a sexy swag and I am not, why would he lunch with a freak.

The rest of the day passed uneventful to which I was really greatful for. I always enjoy my classes and they are not too difficult for me. I though about what I would wear to the party tonight as it is my first time attending as I wanted to look nice, no my hoodie look that I always judge. This party is kept every year since we were awarded our departments. I say awarded as there was a graduation to congratulate us on coming so far and then it was made known to us which department we were in, like Harry Potter and the sorting hat. I've never been as the twins were not living on campus then but with their parents but we were discussing going on they will be finalizing their moving to the campus today that's why they'll be late.

When I was racking my brain on what to wear and then decided on jeans, the girls came and persuaded me to wear a pretty high waisted skirt with a off-the-shoulder blouse with a slipper. They knew all about fashion and while I might be into the twins more they still had my trust.

Demetri's Party

I was saved when the girls came to my rescue. After being dressed by the girls I take a step back and looked in the mirror stunned at what greeted me as I have never dressed like this. I saw that I fit in the group as all three had on an off-the-shoulder dress with a back split for Sasha, a side split for Kayla, and a front split for Carly. "You guys look great!" I said and they all replied "Obviously. Are you ready?" "Let me just call the twins and see where they are," I replied and Sasha grabbed my phone saying "they said they'll be a little late. Why do you need to call? Aren't you going with us? Your friends?" "I still need to call or I'm not going anywhere!" At the same time that she returned my phone Carly's phone rang and she went outside to answer it. I called the boys and ask if I must await them and go together to which they replied that I can go with the girls and they'll catch us later as they are carrying the last of the items to the dorm.

Carly came in back and asked if we are all ready. I felt safer with the twins but the girls have not done anything for me to be suspicious of them till lunch that day. Imagine my surprise when we went downstairs that Demetri himself, the host of the party, was waiting on us as he would drive us. To not seem ungrateful I did not question this, as Kayla drives. I just assumed that she does not know the way so. The seating arrangement is Kayla, Sasha and I are seated at the back and Carly drives in the front with Demetri. Did I mention that Demetri and Alexander are friends? I can hear the conversation in and out but I was not paying attention as I was nervous as this was my first time out without the twins and as such I was in constant contact with them.

Twins POV

As we were putting the last of the items in the moving truck James's phone rang and he called me so we can listen to it. We heard how nervous Dria was on the phone but as we had no reason to doubt the girls we calm her fears and convince her to go stressing that she should not drink and just to let the girls get her juice till we arrive. We will soon be there as this is the last trip. Throughout the trip she contacted us regularly. We were so happy when we finished and rush to go to her not even changing. Who thought that our bubbly feeling would deflate in a manner of seconds.

Dria POV

When we reached I was amazed at how big the house looked but I kept myself attached to the girls. Person would come around and introduced themselves and wanting to have conversations but I was shy especially without my safeguards that I would not enter those conversations. I placed on a couch to sit while the girls would go to get something to drink or go on the dance floor to enjoy themselves.  On the slow dance that played I saw my brother and Sasha, Demetri and Carly, and Jared and Kayla dancing. Jared was also a friend of my brother. When the song came to an end Demetri whispered something to Carly and she looked up at me and went to talk to Sasha when she saw that Alex had left and then she also looked up me, I, however, was not paying attention nor did I pick up on anything as my head was down with me glancing about the room occasionally to see if the twins had arrived.

I felt somewhat safe again when the girls came back to it beside me on the couch. "So you're taking a break!" I'm glad to see you enjoying yourselves" I said while smiling with them. I saw Carly face etched with confusion "where's your drink?" she asked. We all looked at her, "what drink?" we all said and Kayla asked "didn't the twin said we alone should get drinks for her? So where did that question come from? Carly Kayla, did you get her any?" to which they shook her heads "and I did not get her any, sorry forgot." "No problem never felt for any."

I stared in a daze wondering how the twins are not here yet. I raised my hand to call them when a glass was pushed in my hand. I saw it was Carly giving me a glass. "No it's okay I'll just have water" , "No" she shouted at me " this is a party enjoy it" while smiling at me.
