The Vetala

I began to observe things better because I saw that the spirit wasn't actually in spirit form and if I was right it was possessing a corpse.

The spirit asked the first riddle.

"You have three stoves, a gas stove, a wood stove and a coal stove but one match. Which should you light first?"

This was easy.

"The match" I replied.

The spirit smiled.

"Good, good"

"Next riddle" it said and followed with,

"The more you take, the more you leave behind. What am I?"

I had no idea. I tried to think and air seemed like a possible answer but I wasn't sure.

I decided to twist it up.

"How about I also ask you questions" I asked.

"Ooh, that sounds interesting. But you can't ask where your friends are." it responded.

"Fine" although I probably was going to.

"What is it that you truly want to achieve by playing this dumb game."

The spirit smiled. "I don't want to achieve anything but someone wants to test you. I'm simply a middleman you could say. Or a middle corpse!"

It took me a few seconds to process what the spirit was saying.

Who would want to test me?

And in a game?

A thousand questions popped up in my mind but I decided to keep them away for now.

"Fine, forget it. Whats the next riddle" I said.

"There is no next riddle. The test is over." the spirit said.

My friends suddenly appeared sleeping on the road.

I hear a notification.

-level up: 40>>47

-new ability: vetala's intuition

There was no info on the ability but i recognised the name and wondered why I didn't realise it before.

"Your a vetala." I said.

Spirit's that possess corpses hanging from trees and are sources of wisdom and knowledge.

The vetala was gone though. Nowhere to be found.

I didn't bother to find out where and I did have my concerns on who wanted to test me but it was night in game and I had to log out.

"But I'm going to have to wait for these two to wake up though" I sighed and sat down.
