Chapter 12

After the short rest, we went scouting for an acceptable target. Whilst Lukas got started chanting his magic spells, I watched the colorless mana in his body converge around his heart and turn into yellow wind mana. As to not ruin the nature and burn down the trees it was better to use water and wind magic. This was my first time seeing people use spells, and it was fascinating. unlike the goblin mages I have fought with before who used up the mana from the staffs that they used (which over many uses would destroy the staff), or monsters that had a set elemental mana in their body, the humans could use any type of mana(but they do have to have affinities for them).

As Lukas was getting his spells ready, me and Zack used stealth skills like my 「Shadow Step」to scout ahead and get a target. few minutes later we found a lone Copperback elder, Zach fired a light magic spell in the air that had no sound, unlike the flair I used during the goblin extermination.

The whole team was gathered and we commenced our battle. Zach at the hind legs of the Copperback, the rogue used shortsword that had hammer like pommels. using them like a hammer and a nail, he struck one shortsword in the leg and used the other to strike it sending a burst of lightning with every hit. Whilst the was doing that Lukas and Sal fired at its head and then Maika covered Zach to disrupt the rampaging Goliath.

After I swapped with Zach, I used the Full power of my 「Lunge」and 「Shadow Step」skills to quickly get in position, then using 「Vital Strike」I found the optimal spot for striking. My gauntlet dug into the hard metallic flesh of the Copperback and the using 「Void Slice」and「Curse Flame」I annihilated the muscles and bones around the wound, which opened up enough space for me to use fire magic to burst the Goliath's leg, dropping the huge monster on the ground.

Whilst the Copperback was stunned Lukas used a support spell on Maika to buff her attack whilst the also used a skill that made her sword glow with a blinding light, when she swung the sword from her left shoulder to the ground near her right foot, the sword light charged forward in an elegant manner but with destructive force tearing the ground from the point where the swords tip was to the neck of the Copper back cutting into its neck and severing the spine.

Whilst looting the Copperback Lukas asked Maika to cut off the horn, after which he opened up a small pouch and a vortex sucked in the massive horn. When I asked Lukas about it, it seemed like the pouch was like my inventory skill but it had a limited amount of space (My inventory is literally a pocket dimension so I have endless room for storage) and the price of them differed for the size of the storage space one had.

After closer inspection, the dimensional pouch had runes on it created from 「Magic Enchantment」and they possessed three different purposes. one was the space distortion to enlarge the interior, the second from the look of it looked like mass distortion(it seems there exists mana for gravity magic) and the third created the suction that would let the large items enter the small opening( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Lukas also told me that the more expensive ones have time distortion effects that for example doesn't let food rot.

After the fight, Lukas collected every usable part and the used dark magic to destroy the rest so monsters wont be attracted to it. We went back to camp and plopped down to recover from using up all the energy we had during the battle.
