13. Vali

We were having dinner at the main mansion, I knew how to eat in any type of setting as I used to do so in my past life, everyday in fact, because of the works I've created and sold to the auction houses all over the place, I get to eat in luxury and learned how to eat properly in a formal, semi-formal, and informal setting. Even they were surprised by the elegance of the way I move the knife and fork while Mayumi was still struggling just a little bit.

After eating, we once again gathered at the main hall. Kouichi sat on the main sit while we sat on the sides.

"Now that the dinner's over, I would like to thank you for sparing my son and as a compensation we ought to give you these." He waved his hands and a servant came in and a piece of paper came to his eyes.

"This is the deed and title of a land in a highly compacted area, making it a business oriented land. If ever you want to build a business, it will surely boom in this place." the servant took the deed and the title and placed them in a briefcase and handed it to me. The servant then bowed and walked away from the place.

"Now that that's over, will you mind if an old man like me asks you a question?" This time Eiji spoke up.

"Sure, go ahead old man." I answered

"That sword of yours, the Yamato is it? What are your plans with it?" I flinched at his question as I didn't expect someone to know the name of my sword.

"How did you know the name old man?" I asked in curiosity, how an old man like him knew the name of the sword.

"Your father was a comrade of mine when we were pushing back the demons to the hell gates along with some others. That sword you're currently in possession was the one he used for one purpose, to be the key to sealing the hell gates." He said while reminiscing the old days.

"I see. My plan with it? Who knows? I only plan to enjoy life and live it to the fullest." I said

"I see, your mastery of that sword was even better than when your father used it. Since you have his bloodline, can you also transform?" He asked in curiosity and I answered.

"I do." I then changed into my devil trigger form and all of them were shocked as my demonic energy was exploding with the exception of Mayumi who has twinkling eyes, who knows what's in the mind of Mayumi. She then rushed to me and asked.

"VERGIL, CAN YOU FLY?!" Oh, so thats why she's excited.(Flying magic in CAD was invented by Taurus Silver AKA Tatsuya Shiba for Miyuki. So it wasn't weird for them not to know how to fly)

"Not in this form, but in my final form, I do." Mayumi's eyes shined the brightest.

"Can you take me to the skies?" The others were watching the scene with amusement.

"No, if I change into my final form this place wouldn't hold out and would be destroyed." Mayumi's head drooped down so I consoled her. I flicked her forehead Itachi style (damn feels good)

"Maybe next time." I then looked at them.

"Thank you for the hospitality, though it started poorly. I'll be taking my leave, Good night Mayumi." I summoned Yamato and opened a portal in front of everyone and set the path in front of Azazel's house and walked out. I gave a final glance at Mayumi who's now smiling and waving her hands at me before the portal closed down.

"Father, is that one of the ability of his sword?" Kouichi asked Eiji.

"No, but one of the properties of it. His father explained that this sword is so sharp and can cut through anything, including the fabrics of space itself, it may be on par or greater than the original Excalibur itself. Though only his blood descendant can use the Yamato in its full potential." Kouichi was shocked because of the sharpness of such sword.

"Nee-san, you like him don't you? Did you fall for his tricks?! I'll show him who's boss." Kasumi said which only earned a headlock from Mayumi.

"Nee-san, I'm sorry!"

I arrived in front of Azazel's house, I looked at the time and it was only 8:53 pm, 7 mins earlier than expected as I had texted Azazel that I was at the place of the Saegusa's. I arrived inside only to see darkness, I opened the lights and found no one inside.

'Did Uncle Azazel had a one night stand again? Usually he would text me about that stuff. This is weird.' I thought

I was about to head to my room when the door opened and Azazel called out to me. I went downstairs and saw a boy of 6 years old with silver hair.

"Yo, Vergil. Someone asked me to take care of a talent. He's the current holder of the Divine Dividing." Other people would be shocked of it but I already knew about it.

"The one you're endlessly talking about when you're researching? You said only humans can have sacred gears, right? but I also feel devil energy from him, is he a hybrid as well?" I asked him

"Yes, it was the sacred gear that resides the soul of one of the heavenly dragons. Yeah, He is also a hybrid of a human and a devil" Nodding I presented myself to Vali

"'sup, name's Vergil Redgrave. How about you kid?"

"Vali. How did you become strong? My grandfather would beat me up saying I'm weak, so how do I become strong and kill my grandfather?" I see, Rizevim would always beat up Vali and it formed some kind of emotional trauma to make him pursue strength in any form.

"My strength? I don't know what you're talking about?" I played dumbfoundedly.

"No, you're strong, I can feel it. Even stronger than grandfather." Vali said while I thought 'Welp. Busted.'

"Enough of that, how's your stay at the Saegusa Mansion?" Azazel interjected and I told him it was not the best but also not the worst.

"I was met with a battle maniac who created a mini-sun to defeat me, but wasn't enough and was given compensation for it." I pointed to the briefcase laid on the table.

"Uncle, I also have something to give you that I want you to sell." I have painted many masterpiece over the years and are just stuck in my inventory.

"I see, you must have some plan for the given compensation right? Now then, guide Vali to the vacant room next to yours. I nodded and Vali followed me, on the way I only noticed that Vali had tattered clothes and his body had bruises, from Rizevim, I presume.

I then led him to his room and opened it, I showed him the bathroom, his bed and his closet. I also went back to my room and picked up my old clothes and went back to Vali's room.

"These might be old for you to use, but until Azazel give you, your allowance, to buy your own clothes, you can use these for awhile. And come here, your bruises aren't a sight to see."

Seeing him not coming and a little bit scared, I grabbed him and put my hand, injected some demonic energy and healed his injuries. Man the demon's regenerative powers are OP, Dante being impaled by his own sword so many times but still making some puns is fcking hilarious.

I then said to Vali.

"Vali, I know you want strength to get revenge, and you can freely do so." I paused for a bit and remembered Dante's words to Vergil in the game.

"but never, under any circumstances, surrender your humanity, got it?" I then stood up and left Vali staring at me.
