A Weird Encounter

This might not be a good sign. I should leave is what I tell myself as my feet automatically walk towards the source of the sudden ear-piercing sound. As I walk closer, the screams get slower until they end with the loud cries of a woman.

I should help her.

I finally reach to the source of the sound as my eyes search all around the forest for the woman--"who are you?"

I jerk back in surprise as I look at her curled up, laying on the dirt with her long white satin dress spreading all over the ground. Breathing out in relief I took a good look at her and my God--was she just beautiful!

Her green eyes shine and reflect the bright light originating from the vivid white color of the moon. Her dark caramel-like skin tone shines bright as she moistens her plump lips. She looks at me wide-eyed engulfing my weak self into her attractiveness. I don't understand what, but there is something that attracts me to her.

The level of her beauty is immaculate. I go towards her willing to help her but I immediately back away as my beloved's voice rings in my head.

Shivers run down my spine as my eyebrows crash together in the sudden stress--"do you know how much I love you Emir?", she implies as she gently plays with my hair. "Hmm?", I smile as I make my head rest in a more comfortable position on her lap. She sets herself on the sofa firmly knowing well that I would fall asleep in not much time. My vision blurs as I try to take a look at my beloved wife's face but fail to do so. "My love for you is immeasurable…", is the last thing I hear before falling into the warm and strong embrace of darkness--

"SIR!", the woman in front of me harshly pulls me out of my thoughts with her loud but striking voice. I shake my head and get rid of all the thoughts. My gaze falls to the ground after the sudden intense memory--I feel like I am betraying my first love even though she is not here with me today.

I get rid of all the thoughts once more as I make eye contact with her.

"Are you lost?", I inquire confusedly not knowing what to ask her.

She looks at me, wide-eyed and perplexedly, probably wondering why I had asked her such a question. She rolls her eyes as the reflection of the bright moon shines upon them. The pace of my heartbeat hastens as she makes eye contact with me with fire dancing brightly in her eyes.

"No, I came here for fun, that's why I was screaming my lungs out for help, yeah.", she says whilst having a quick look at her nails.

My eyes widen in amusement as a petty scoff flies out of my mouth. Is she challenging me?

I fold my arms and take a good look at her. "Having fun? Alright then, go continue to enjoy.", I offer and immediately turn my back to return home. What a great waste of time.

"Wait!", she calls out. I hear her clearly but continue to walk ahead--the last time I checked, she was enjoying here, wasn't she?

The melodic sound of her anklets clinking resonates through my ears, signifying that she was running toward me. She suddenly hops out in front of me, spreading out her arms in the air to stop me from walking further ahead. Her white dress is dirty and her curly raven hair is a mess, but I walk ahead despite her efforts to stop me. She groans and runs her fingers through her hair in frustration.

"Fine! I'm sorry! Does that make it any better?" I turn around to look at her, towering above her with my figure. I smile triflingly, "Yes--very much, thank you."

I stand right in front of her, fold my arms, and continue to judge how much of a bad shape she was in. "What do want?", I ask with sincerity.

"I don't know how I got here."

I scoff. "yeah, sure you don't but that's not my question, miss." She rolls her eyes at my statement and purses her lips together.

"Just tell me what this place is."

"A small town, with Muslims as its main population," I walk ahead. "You won't find any advanced machinery or technology. Enough about me, say, where are you from?"

She walks in front of me and pushes a strand of her hair behind her ear. She averts her gaze to the grass below, "My history is complicated, why do you want to know?"

My eyebrows crash together in confusion. "A simple thing it is, why do you not want to tell me?", I question.

She looks elsewhere. "Tell me where are you from?", she emphasizes the "you". I take a look at her face. "Istanbul.", I reply shortly.

"You didn't answer my question.", I remind her. "Can you please show me the way out?", she diverts the attention elsewhere.

Leaving me with no choice, I sigh and nod briefly, "Alright then, follow me."

I walk further, hastening my speed. The time of prayer is about to end. I've wasted so much time already. "We're here. This is where the forest ends. You can go back.", I say as I take a different direction from her and proceed to walk away.

"Wait!", she calls out. I turn around to look at her. She looks away and then looks back at me again. "I didn't catch your name.", she voices with a sheepish grin painted brightly across her face. I smile at her. "Emir--My name is Emir, and you are--?", her eyes widen and before I get to complete my question she hurries forward to say, "Well, thank you for your help Emir, I appreciate it.", she says and tucks a strand behind her ear. Her hair flutters with the wind as she moistens her lips. My heart beats faster as I gulp nervously and looks the other way. "No problem--", and before I complete my statement, she rushes away to a place unknown.

What a weird encounter. I stretch and crack my knuckles as the vivid image of her exquisite beauty spreads across my mind. I feel my face heat up.

Is this a dream?
