I don't… understand any of this.

"W-What do these things mean?" I asked Dad, and he looked widely surprised as he lifted the device up.

His eyes are staring at the crystal pad much closer than before, and his actions turned both Mom and Grandma curious.

"What is it?" Mom asked from the kitchen while finishing with making her coffee, and Dad is only shaking his head.

"It's… different.

It's different than before. It's not like what we saw many years ago when she was one year old."

T-They did a test on me that long ago?? When I was only a year old??

"Is it impossible for the result to be different even after so much time has passed?" Grandma asked from the dining table, and Dad shook his head very quickly.

"It's not possible. It shouldn't be. Certain numbers can change throughout a person's growth, like the amount of magic energy within their bodies. But their potential… should've been something permanent.

This means that something has happened to you, Milly. And from the looks of it, it's something terrifyingly powerful."

Dad's grim tone made me realize just how important it must be, and I can only look widely confused. I don't understand a single thing that came out of the device, let alone what my result was when I was only a year old.

But, given Dad's reaction, it has to be something big. Something abnormal.

After realizing my result was very different, Dad proceeded to tell me about what the result was mostly about.

The first category that the device tested is the amount of 'Magic Energy' that we have in our bodies as of currently. The amount is numbered under a certain unit called Mels, or short term for 'Magic Energy Levels'. The number directly tells us about the amount of magic energy that we have based on that unit.

And I wouldn't say the result is somewhat normal, either. A casual citizen who never practices magic whatsoever would have around 100 to 200 Mels. A combatant who is an amateur at magic would have about 1000 Mels. A very capable mage, especially a higher ranking one, would have around 10,000 Mels.

I have 12,500 Mels.

I am twelve years old.

The second category is what Dad freaked out about. It is my 'Magic Potential', and it's a lot more complicated than simply determining the amount of magic inside me.

Magic Potential focuses on the talent, the growth rate that a person has with their magic capabilities. This can be detected through some way that I don't quite understand, but there's no exact measurements because it is fully unique and dependent on one's self.

For example, a person can grow 20% more than before, but that 20% can be 400% for another person. On the other hand, the other person would grow 20%, but that would make about less than 1% on the first person.

They both grew at the same rate, just in different amounts adjacent to their previous state. Which is why determining the potential of a person was done using other people's data that was previously already taken by the device.

'Magic Potential: 5000|1073%|225%'

Three numbers came out of the category. The first number is going to be the same for everyone. It is the amount of regular people that was tested to create the measurement for the device, which is a whopping 5000 people.

Those 5000 results will then be used to determine how amazing the potential of the user can be when compared to those 5000 people. And from Dad's explanation, the 5000 people ranged from very normal citizens of the Veldonian Empire, to four year old toddlers, to the best mages of the empire.

The second number is to tell how great my potential is compared to the average number of that 5000 people. My 20% growth versus the people's average 20% growth. How much bigger that 20% of mine when compared to the people's average 20%?

The answer is 1073%. Over 11 times bigger than the average person.

Again, I'm only twelve years old. Although, I don't think age has anything to do with this matter.

The third number compares me to the number one person amongst the 5000. According to Dad, the number one highest potential holder came from a very capable mage that works directly under the Archmage of Veldonia, Sir Tim Felton's subordinate.

And my talent is… 225% larger than his.

Is it just unfair to be me?

"When I tried this device on you, when you were only one year old, you had one thousand Mels of magic energy. You were only one year old." Dad told me about the test that he had me go through when I was still a baby, and I was really amazed that the result was so high.

"So I grew… a thousand Mels every year? I start with 1,000 at one year old, and I have 12,500 at twelve years old."

"I'm not sure how that works, but we can go with that. What surprises me the most is your magic potential.

One-Year-Old-You had 520% versus the average number, and around 125% versus the top one. Now, you have 1037% versus the average number, and 225% versus the top one. This should not be the case, as a person's talent and potential should remain the same no matter their age."

Dad pointed out the facts to me, and I understand why he is very confused. It seems that for some reason, my talent grew a lot-lot larger compared to before, and I can't exactly find out why. I don't think Dad or even Grandma knows why either.

Do people's talent… just grew larger as they grew older?

Well, the answer is no.

.

.

.

"Interesting. My magical talent grew larger." My voice echoed inside my office, with a hint of genuine confusion.

With my eyes staring straight at the old magic testing device on top of my working table, my brain works gears to try and solve the question. My hand is constantly touching the crystal pad on the device to try and find out what's going on, and a person approached me from the sofa.

"Another anomaly case?" With his heavy voice, Harry asked as his eyes turned to the magic testing device in front of me.

"Yes. Because from what I recalled… I don't own 3,123% magic potential."

"How much do you used to have?"

"520%. It's a huge increase." I pointed out to Harry, and he lifted his hand to place it on his chin.

"That is a big increase. Does that mean you are a lot stronger with your magic than before?"

"Possibly… but I'm too afraid to try it out. For now, I'm not going to use any magic as we find out the cause of the anomaly. I don't want to randomly flatten the whole empire to dust because I had no control over my godly magic."

"We'll find the source. Until then, you can rely on me to utilize magic." Harry said with such confidence, and I turned my big smile to him.

"Look at you, good ol'reliable dragon!"

"I'm just lending you a hand. Or you can feel free and risk it. I'll be preparing the funerals for all your vassals--"

"You're really nice sometimes, but your jokes are too grim. Tone it down, stupid."

Harry turned a big evil grin to me, and he proceeded to walk away back to the sofa. I turned my focus back to the device in front of me, wondering why the hell the result looked so different from what I remembered.
