Chapter 4
Cecilia woke up with a bad headache. She had no idea when or how she had fallen asleep. The last thing she remembers is Augustus and how he had fooled her into thinking Kael was in danger.
She blamed herself for falling so easily as his prey. She should have noticed it. To be sincere, she noticed it but she looked the other way because Kael was what was important to her.
"Argh." She moaned in pain as she tried to sit up.
She took in her surroundings. She was in a room. She wasn't sure what room exactly but she knew she was in a room in the palace and she also knew that Augustus had been the one to bring her here. She tried to move but then the door opened and he walked in with a wide smile plastered on his face.
"Ahh, I see you are awake," Augustus said to her.
His right eye was swollen and she frowned. Had she hit him? She wasn't sure. Her memories were foggy. It was like someone had purposely tampered with it. She could not understand why or how it happened but she was sure that Augustus was behind it.
Cecilia tried to move as Agistus approached her but she noticed she was chained to the headboard. It was then she took note of the fact that she was on a bed. Looking at the room now, it looked like what was meant for newlyweds. There were rose petals on the bed and it was like the room had a theme colour. Red. Everything was so bloody red and she hated it.
"Don't try to move, darling. You should be comfortable though, I wonder why you would want to move from that position when I have prepared everything specifically for you." Augustus said to her.
He was now lying on the opposite side of the bed and staring at her with an emotion she could not identify.
"What do you want?" Cecilia gritted out.
Augustus laughed. "I thought we were past this already. You are what I want." He told her.
Cecilia frowned. There must be more to it. If there was any way she was going to survive, then she had to find it. But she wasn't going without knowing Augustus' true aim.
"Why?" She asked him.
Augustus traced a finger from her cheek, down to her collarbone and cleavage. He stopped there and tapped a beat before taking his hands off her.
"Who knows? Maybe I'm obsessed with you?" He asked her with a chuckle.
Cecilia found that hard to believe. They both had a mutual dislike for each other. There is no way he would be obsessed with her. She was sure this had something to do with Kael. There must be something he wished to gain from her. Something he wanted to use against Kael perhaps.
"Are you obsessed? And with me?" She laughed.
"Think of something better. We hated each other right from the moment we met." She said to him,
"You hated me. I just went with the flow." Augustus shrugged his shoulders.
"That's a fucking lie and we both know that." She told him.
"How do you feel now that you've fucked my brother? How do you feel now that you've tied him down? That was what you wanted wasn't it?" Augustus asked her.
Cecilia frowned "Is that jealousy I sense? Perhaps you are obsessed with Kael?"
Augustus stiffened when she said that. Cecilia thought for a moment that she had gotten it but then Augustus laughed heartily.
"Jealousy? Me? Jealousy of who? You?" Augustus asked her in between fits of laughter.
He could not comprehend what she was saying. There was no way he was obsessed with his brother. At least not in the way she was thinking. There was also nothing about Kael to be obsessed about. Augustus just wanted to see Kael suffer which was why he had poisoned Kael's mother when they were younger.
Cecilia frowned. She had thought for a moment that maybe Augustus was in love with his brother but that's want the case. This was something else.
"There are different types of obsession." She told Augustus with an eye roll.
"But we both know exactly what you were thinking. You think I would be in love with that filthy half-blood?" He asked her.
Augustus' face changed. He was normally handsome but now he looked like an ogre. Cecilia had to agree that this was how he looked. This was his true face and character. Everything else had been a pretence. And she was right, Augustus had something against Kael. It was just too bad that Kael could not see it.
Cecilia was in no way expecting what happened next. Augustus changed positions immediately. First, he was lying on the opposite side of the bed staring at Cecilia and next thing she knew, he was on top of her.
"Get off me." She growled out in anger and pain.
Augustus had hit her stomach while changing his position.
He laughed. "Nothing you do now will stop what is going to happen. You can keep that little growl to you and let me hear your moans."
Cecilia's eyes widened in fear. Her heartbeat was erratic without control as she thought of what Augustus planned to do to her.
Run, she thought.
But how could she run? She was confirmed to the headboard and her moves were limited. While she was still contemplating what to do, Augustus had already concluded what he had planned for her. He tore her clothes and brought out a pocket knife.
He used the sharp edge to trace the outline of her breasts making sure it wasn't too deep but enough to make her bleed.
No, no, no. She screamed in her head but her mouth shook. Her whole body shook in fear. She had no idea what Augustus planned to do with her or to her but she was apprehensive.
Augustus laughed. He moved the knife further down pressed it deeply into her stomach and watched as she bled onto the sheets.
"Please…" Cecilia cried out.
She had no idea when she started begging him. The words just came out even when she had sworn not to beg him.
Augustus laughed. "That's what I like to hear. Beg me, Cecilia. Beg me because you have no other choice."
"Please stop." She cried out.
He laughed and dropped the knife. Cecilia almost breathed out a sigh of relief but then she remembered that this was Augustus. He must have something planned but what?
Cecilia did not have to ponder on it too much because the next thing she knew, Augustus was taking off his clothes. She was already naked on the bed and she struggled more to relieve her hand from the restraint holding her against the headboard.
She thrashed her legs against him, trying to kick him but Augustus laughed at her attempt.
"Cute." He said as he placed his knees on her legs to keep her in place.
Cecilia knew this was the last straw. There was no way she would be able to live with herself if she let Augustus succeed. She had been holding on because of Kael but she knew there was nothing she could do at this point.
Cecilia had no magic. It was one of the reasons she still survived when her brother started the massacre of her family members. But that did not mean she wouldn't try. She remembered seeing a magical spell in a book some time ago. According to the book, even someone with no magic should be able to cast the spell. She had no idea what she was doing but if it was possible to take her back to a few hours to correct her mistake, she would take it.
She wasted no time in casting the spell. Augustus stopped moving when he heard the words coming out of her mouth. He laughed. There was no way Cecilia would be able to do even the smallest of magic. She was a host with nothing. So this spell was nothing also but it irritated him. The fact that she had rejected him for his brother when he was everything irked him. The fact that she also disliked him when he had been nothing but good…..okay pretend to be good to her, irked him. Everything about Cecilia annoyed him. And she was more annoyed now that she was carrying Kael's offspring.
She disgusted him. And the fact that she had this much pride for being married to a half-blood and for being without magic. She was nothing, next to him. The only reason he even entertained her was because his brother was interested. He had thought their father would do something to make Cecilia his but instead, he had given Cecilia to Kael.
Another thing that annoyed Augustus was the fact that their father liked Kael but the fool just could not see it. Augustus ragged and strangled Cecilia out of anger.
Cecilia in her last breath only thought of the fact that she had not apologized to Kael. She was right but the way things had ended between them was something she wished she could change.
She cried that they could not have the life they dreamed of having together. She cried because she could not bring their child into this life. She because she could not warn Kael that his brother wasn't the person he thought he was. And she cried because if she had magic, she would have been able to do something better.
"I'm sorry."
Cecilia took her last breath in Augustus' presence and he was overjoyed to see her go. This was just the beginning of what he had in store for Kael.
