After searching for around thirty more minutes, they found Delilah, terribly wounded and soaked in her own blood near the lakeside, barely able to move.
It was Zephyr who found her, his heart finally calming when he saw her teary eyes looking back at him.
"I am sorry," She whispered, and Zephyr shook his head at her before placing his hand on her cheeks.
"I am sorry for being late," He said, pulling her in close for a hug, making her wince in pain.
"I am so sorry you have to go through all this," he said, pecking her neck from behind his mask softly.
He knew he was hurting her a little with his hug, but this was something he terribly needed too.
For a moment when he kept smelling her blood and wasn't able to reach her, the negative thoughts of what might have happened to her, clogged his head in a way that he was minutes away from changing into his wolf form, and not just his normal wolf, his beast wolf.
