The suprise

ALEX POV

Immediately it was 6pm, I started rounding up, so I could go home, latest, few minutes past six.

"Hey Lisa, I think I'm done for today, so I should be doing the last thing right now" I said to lisa packing the last of the Champagne tumblers.

I looked out of the bar glass door, I saw cars, but I saw this car that just arrived,

"Why would anyone be coming when the bar is about to close" I told Lisa, while cleaning some table,

"People work night shift, so they should be here around 6:30 to start, so people are still free to come, till maybe 10pm" Lisa explained to me

"Okay, I get now" I said amazed, " that's great"...

"You should be Alex right?"

I looked at where the voice was coming from, it was Stefan, finally, I heard him speak, but what was he going to say.

"Yes I am" I answered nervously

"Someone's here to see you, outside" he told me,

"Okay thanks" I told him walking outside

Who could it be, do I even have anyone that knew were I was working except...

"Hey Alex" I was interrupted in thought,

Cameron, what was is doing here, I wasn't expecting him and he never told me he was coming, maybe he came to have a drink at the bar, after all, it's a bar, but why didn't he come inside.

I thought.

"Cameron" I answered nervously," what are you doing here.., oh, sorry, you must have come to have a drink like everyone else" I said trying to justify his coming, "but my shift is over, I was just about leaving" I said intertwining my hands, nervousness, I guess.

"That's great, I guess I could drop you at your place" he said

"You don't have to do that, I can take a taxi home"

" Please let me do this, please, at least I can get to know your place, and know you a little more" he said again, trying to convince me, unfortunately, I was.

"Okay"

CAMERON'S POV

I became nervous immediately my car stopped at her work place, I didn't tell her I was coming, I hope she won't be mad or pissed..

"Excuse me" I went out of my thought, when I saw someone I could tell to help me call Alex, I guess he was working there because he was on uniform, I had to tell him to help me because I couldn't go inside there, I was scared

Scared??

Yea, maybe I was.

"Yes please" the man I called answered drawing my attention back to him.

"Yea, please I need you to help me call Alex, Alex McKenzie, she works here, she's pretty,she has this black shade eye, black long hair and she's..."

"Yes I know her" he said interrupting " she's the new one here"

"Yes I think so" I said

"Thank you" I appreciate when I was going in, I presumed he was going to call her.

I waited in my car for like 7 minutes, when I saw her walking towards me, I was excited, and at the same time scared and nervous, how was I going to tell her, I hope she understands

Understand how I need to be with her, I need to be near her, I don't why, maybe as friends I guess.

"Hey Alex" I said in my own nervousness, I was trying to hide it, but I think it wasn't working, I prayed silently that she doesn't notice.

"Cameron" she answered, nervously because I noticed, I'm sure she didn't notice mine. Pweewhhh!!!.

"what are you doing here.., oh, sorry, you must have come to have a drink like everyone else" she said, she didn't think I came for her, this is going to be hard, trying to convince her.

"but my shift is over, I was just about leaving"

Yeah, I know, I told my self, I wish she could hear it.

"That's great, I guess I could drop you at your place"

I acted like I had forgotten.

"You don't have to do that, I can take a taxi home" she said but I had to convince her that I should,

" Please let me do this, please, at least I can get to know your place, and know you a little more"

"Okay" she said, I did.

She sat at the passengers seat with me in front, there was this silence that had taken over 15 minutes of the drive, it needed to stop, what should I say, or she should say something, or maybe I should, but I couldn't, the silence had taken another 5 minutes, and we were still silent, she didn't even give me direction to her house, and I didn't ask, I was just driving, and as long as she was silent, it meant I was going the right way, I just took the road of the cafe we met the other day, because I figured it was same road to her house, so I just kept driving.

That's enough, the silence was enough, I decided to start up something, but before I started I look at her, she was staring outside,

"So how was your day" I thought I should start with this

"Ummmm, it was great, my first experience was great" she answered like she didn't expect me to say some,

What else?

"That's good to hear" I responded "I'm glad you enjoyed it"

"Thanks" she answered like she wasn't interested in the conversation, she turned towards the window again

What the f**k!!!

"Okay, you didn't really tell me where your house is" I told her,at least she was going to say something

"Oh, I'm sorry, it's blue heights, House 352, that's where I stay"

"Ok, so who do you stay with, just you and your daughter? I asked

"No, no, I stay with someone, Mrs corazon Morgan, the owner of the house, she offered me hospitality, because I had no place to stay when I came back from New York, so she helped"

"Oh that's good, I hope you are okay there" I asked with concern

"Yes I am, Mrs Corazon is really a nice person"

"I'm glad" this time around I turned to look at her, but she was already staring, so I think our eyes met, I actually forgot, I only looked into her eyes, I stared, as if I was searching for something, something great, something special, but I could only see, pain in her eyes, sadness and an eye filled with tears that refused to fall down.

"Are you okay" I asked, trying to figure out what was wrong, why I could only see sadness, and pain

"No, nothing, I'm good" she said give me a smile, fake one, you would know, so I only smiled back.

"Yeah that's the house" she said, taking my attention back to the house.

ALEX POV

I entered his car, I was nervous and Happy at the same time, we drove for like 7 minutes in silence, I didn't know what to say, and I guess he didn't know what to say either so I just looked outside the window, looking for something that would distract me.

Then I felt his eyes on, my nervousness increased, but I just kept looking outside, like I didn't know he was looking at me.

"So how was your day" I guessed he finally found what to say but I wasn't expecting he would say something, like now,

"Ummmm, it was great, my first experience was great" I said, my voice was actually shaking

"That's good to hear" he responded "I'm glad you enjoyed it"

I didn't know what to say,

"Thanks" I said, I guessed that would do.

"Okay, you didn't really tell me where your house is" he said, I even forgot about that, how could I be so stupid, how could I think he knew my house, I just let him keep driving without telling him where to go.

"Oh, I'm sorry, it's blue heights, House 352, that's where I stay" I said

"Ok, so who do you stay with, just you and your daughter? He asked, great, I guessed he wanted to start a conversation, that I couldn't,

"Oh that's good, I hope you are okay there" he asked with concern

"Yes I am, Mrs Corazon is really a nice person"

I said staring at him, his eyes, I remember how I even met her and then the thought took me back to many thoughts, my past, I was almost in tears, but I held it, I'm strong, I told myself.

"I'm glad" he said turning towards me, maybe he found out I was looking at him, though I was lost in my thoughts looking at him.

I looked into his eyes, there was this sweet pain of nervousness that ran through my body, I could feel butterflies in my stomach, I forgot about what I was thinking, I could only see his eyes, the inside, I could see the innocence in his eyes, I'm glad I met him, at least he could be my distraction.

"Are you okay" he asked like he could see my past

"No, nothing, I'm good" I smiled at him, yeah, fake one, he only smiled back.

I turned I found out he was already close to the house, but still driving and looking at me, how is he doing that:)

"Yeah that's the house" I said, pointing at the house

"Thanks for the ride, I really appreciate" I said with gratitude,

"It's no big deal" he smiled

Owwch! That smile was different, it sent that sweet pain I felt the other time, then disappeared,

I opened the door and stood close to the gate untill he started his car and I waved bye to him, I waited until he was out of sight before I went inside.
