Chapter 10

THIS IS MOSTLY AN INFO DUMP!

You can skip this chapter, you don't need to remember the names or anything.

---

After the small questionnaire, I got patched up and healed in a few hours.

When I told the chief about my plans to leave, he was kind enough to give me a set of clean clothes, a small first-aid kit, a map of the surrounding area, 10g, and a dagger for safety measures.

10g meant 10 gold, one of the three types of coins. Silver, gold, and Platinum. 1g being 10s and 1P being 100g. Aon is a digital currency, created and managed wholey by the Rosen Bank. 10g is 1A, while 1P is 10A.

The chief, along with Lang and Sein, all sent me off with bright smiles.

Currently, the wind brushed against my hair as I walk at a slow pace down a road of short grass.

Little white flowers dotted the trail as I examine the map.

I hadn't looked at the map very closely before leaving, only taking my time to see it now.

The map was drawn on a piece of thick paper, one that wouldn't tear easily. It was also coated in waterproof material, to prevent 'accidents' from ever happening.

Black ink and small packed words lined the white paper, showing the surrounding area of the village clearly alongside some labels.

It turns out that the forest I awoke in was a 'forbidden land', which explains the black color theme and lack of animals in the middle.

Although I didn't feel anything unusual about the place, as a forbidden land, it really doesn't match my expectations.

The forbidden land was named the 'Umbral Forest' named after its unusual color scheme and lack of animals.

During the day, Umbral Forest was like any other, if one excluded the colors and animals, of course.

But anyone who stays the night disappears. Naturally, the Federation sent out scouts, yet none came back after a night.

Today, it's still a mystery to all. Directly labeling the forest as a forbidden land, no one dares to take a step in the forest unless they were delusional or straight-up suicidal.

The Federation is basically a democratic major force, one of the most powerful forces that are a purely human force.

Other than the Federation, there is also the Holy Empire and the Solis Alliance.

The Empire is on par with the Federation, and the Alliance is slightly weaker.

Azure Dragon Palace is also a major force but they do not interfere with worldly affairs.

The land was divided into 5 major continents, 3 of which are ruled by the major forces. One belongs to the beasts, named the Divine beast continent and the other connects the continents, named the Neutral Lands.

Currently, I am in the Silver continent, which is the territory of the Federation.

It was named the Silver continent due to its large Silver mines, making the Feds the third land richest in natural wealth, second to the Neutral lands, and the Divine beast continent.

Where I am exactly is unknown, but judging from the lack of large cities nearby, it shouldn't be too close to the center, which is good.

The Federation is ruled by humans, and humans are xenophobic, only welcoming humans and demihumans, with obvious discrimination, not to mention beasts.

And the ruler of this generation is rumored to be a tier 10 human, human limits are to tier 6 but naturally, there are ways to surpass such limits.

One of which is bloodlines.

Just like the royal family of the Holy Empire, the Federations Leader has a high tiered, rumored to be a mythology-level bloodline, allowing him to surpass the limits.

As for my plans, I plan on meeting the players early on.

When I was still hunting in the forest, I took a look at my [ System Menu ], because there were bound to be some changes after reincarnating in VANHA.

The menu changes from one person to another, although most have the same template, unique factors may result in change.

One of which is me being the [ System Administrator ], I have options to edit the system, manage authority, as well as other things.

Naturally, a non-player menu would be different from players'.

One example would be the lack of the [ >Forum< ], [ >Quest page< ], and the [ >Log out< ] option.

I was curious to see if I had the [ NPC Template ], a [ Monster Template ], or the normal [ System Administrator ] template, just with the absence of the [ >Log out< ].

[ System Menu ]

[ >Host Status< ]

[ >System Panel< ]

[ >NPC Task Panel< ]

[ >Forum< ]

[ >Settings< ]

...And the result was a bit anticlimactic in a way?

As it turns out, the only thing that changed was the [ >Log out< ] option.

The [ >Forum< ] was still there, which kinda surprised me, as I'm no longer a [ Player ]. Although I could probably attribute that to me being the systems admin. I still have to overlook the forum.

What a hassle.

After all, I'm the only admin other than the AI's, whose only job is to check for bugs and abnormalities in the system, fix them, or report them.

Knowing that I have the [ NPC Template ] changed my initial plans, which were to garner strength in secret, into interacting with the players at the very beginning.

The players would eventually grow to unimaginable heights, gaining their trust and familiarizing myself with them now can benefit me in the long run.

After all, they would rather trust a beginner NPC rather than one in the later stages, no?

Players would first spawn in remote villages, helping out there, and slowly make their way to nearby cities.

Of course, they can always go do whatever but it is recommended that they follow the beginners' guide.

VANHA was a game that soared the rankings in a matter of days, and luck wasn't a major factor in that.

The systems' core technology was made by my father. He created his own unique code, which could also be a kind of language.

Code Nihilm. Which can also be shortened to Code N.

This perk of the system also made it unhackable lest the hacker knew how Code N worked and was skilled enough to use it.

But that also meant having to maintain and develop the code alone, as I couldn't teach it to anyone else. At least, not without fathers' explicit permission.

So I created Queen, alongside other sentient AI's to assist me.

Code N also had some, magical properties?

...Actually, that makes a lot of sense.

Seeing that I'm here right now, in VANHA, a supposedly virtual world, it would make sense for there to be 'magic' in the truest sense.

During my 'trial' when I was using 'transformation magic', my 'shadow' also mentioned that I should go and find my father.

Meaning he's still out there.

And I'm gonna find him.

I will make a separate auxiliary chapter for how money works, dates, and stuff like that.

awah why did I make it so that Val made such a complicated background ah

idk how to progress this anymore jsjs
