Chapter 51: Coping with the surprise
“Who the hell is that? What’s this? Where does he come from?” Raven asked from between tight jaws. Nobody heard him because of the loud music.
He looked around at the other people in the hall.
“Can’t they see what I’ve just seen?” he asked just above his breath.
The lights were dimmed but he could clearly see everyone’s faces. Nobody seemed bothered about the group that had just entered yet. They were too busy dancing already.
Raven swung around and began to walk away when he noticed Prince Jules, their visitor coming towards him with a big smile on his face.
“What a lovely evening. This is a lot of fun for a palace,” he remarked above the noise of the music when he reached Raven’s side.
A butler passed and Raven grabbed a cocktail glass from his tray.
“Don’t you have dances in your palace?” he asked absentmindedly. He was hoping that the other guests could not notice the resemblance between him and Gwyneth’s partner yet. He needed to compose himself first.
