Turning around, Elmer saw several familiar faces and a few unfamiliar ones. Their complexion was paler than that of ordinary people, and Elmer knew they were all vampires—vampires who could roam around in broad daylight, likely with a core implanted in their navels.
Counting them, Elmer found a total of fifteen people. He couldn't help but furrow his brow and ask, "Is this all the grand headquarters has to offer?"
"She's far more useful than all of us," Emily said, her gaze fixed on Brula. Seeing her holding Elmer's hand intimately, Emily couldn't help but feel surprised, as if she was completely different from before. Emily would visit the Vatican every month and would occasionally encounter Brula. When she mentioned Elmer to the Pope, he immediately sent Brula, saying she could definitely complete the mission. But now, Emily seemed hesitant.
"Sister Emily, are you here to help my husband too?" Brula asked with a smile.
