Arthur Valhalla(2)

I decided to change my course. I won't go to winterfell right away. I decided that until I have my own power base I won't engage in any direct way with any lord of westeros save for the reeds. If I want anyone on the mainland on my side it's them.

If I recall correctly, they have blood of the children of the Forrest running through their veins. Which makes them guaranteed to have at least one warg and one greenseer per generation. This usually combines into the same being, but there are always exceptions.

Being in mainland westeros means I can't just fly my way through the day or I risk being seen and reported about. So, my plan is to leave morgoth a few hours away from the neck while I try to make my way to grey water watch. I know many have failed trying to do it before but no warg has tried since the starks conquered the neck and killed the marsh king while marrying his daughters to take their bloodline for their own.

2 days later

Donning a grey and black version of my normally navy blue and red cloak I make my way down from the mountain clans territory into the swampy marshland below with frost at my side. As I make my way I feel another warg bond (AN:that's what I'll call his familiars) forming.

I see I'm flying. My feathers are ruffled and I feel free.

I'm about a half mile away from my body so I mentally give the command to the bird of prey to begin its journey to me before I return to my head. "Jeez thats always so weird," I say aloud to frost as I take a cloth to wipe my blood from my nose. It's gotten less and less in amount so far each time I've done the warging thing, However, that also depends on the animal I try to enter.

For example, if I try to actively see through frost or morgoth's eyes the amount of blood I lose becomes very very large. But using something like a mouse or deer barely leaves a trickle of blood.

My theory is it has to do with the intelligence of the animal you're trying to control. Which makes perfect sense in my opinion, afterall there are certain rules I've heard about in my deep asoiaf research. One of them is to never attempt to warg into a man, as such a thing is a very affront to the gods. There's also a thing about eating human flesh and copulating while in an animal.

'Honestly even without my 21st century morals, who the hell would do something like that? I remember bran doing it to the simpleton beyond the wall, and from his situation one can certainly affirm he's cursed by the gods.I mean look at him, paralyzed, taken over by a pedo in a tree, unfeeling to those around him. Nah. I would never do that'.

A few minutes after my internal monologue I feel my bird arrive. And to my immense satisfaction it's a bird similar to my worlds harpy eagle, only it's pitch black save for its feet and beak which are Snow White. Huge amber eyes bearing into my own as she lands atop my shoulder.

"Well what should we call you little one?" I ask the very much not small bird. If I'm being honest this thing is easily 2.5 ft tall and doesn't even look like it's fully grown yet.

The bird tilts its head at me as if waiting for my own opinion on its name. Putting a hand in frosts fur and scratching it, I begin to brainstorm out loud.

"Galadriel"

"Eywa"

"Odessa"

"Artemis"

"Aerilyn"

"Ambrosia"

AN: comment and give vote on the names please! For now I'll just use the one I want. If it's outvoted I'll use the other

At the name Artemis , the bird playfully nipped my ear, "okay then. Artemis it is." I saw running my finger through her beautiful black feathers.

3 days later, the neck, 129 AC

Finally finding myself in the neck was incredible.

First of all, I'm from the southern part of the USA, which means the humid temperature of the neck as well as the environment are all right up my alley. Hell I pretty much grew up in a place close to this.

So unlike all the horror stories of the andals coming through here never to be seen again, with the help of my two companions I've been able to pass through this perilous environment fairly easily.

Although I did encounter the famous 'lizard lions' or alligators in my view. Fairly large ones as well. From what I've seen, they're comparable in size to the Nile crocs from my old world. Not too jarring considering my current company, a bird nearly to my waist in height and a wolf whose head goes above mine when he raises it all the way.

On my 4th night in the neck, I was sitting around the campfire cooking a recent lizard lion kill when above my head Artemis made a screech.

Not only did my eagle sense something coming but so did frost. Who let out a deep, reverberating growl that echoed off the water near my makeshift campsite. Wearily I called out into the shadows, "if you don't wish to be ripped apart I urge you to identify yourself."

After nearly a minute of silence, I heard the brush rustle as Artemis landed in the tree I was currently resting under. Spreading her wings in a display of agression. While frost stood completely in front of me sideways. To block any and all threats.

Laying my hand on the wolfs side and standing up myself I finally see my visitor.

He's a small man with muddy brown hair that's cut short, bushy eyebrows of the same shade, however; what truly catches my attention is the color of the man's eyes. The dont glow like mine do when I'm angry, but they show they know far more than I do which makes me tense.

No one speaks for another minute. The man's eyes were wide seeing my companions. Apparently having a Direwolf and whatever this bird is called is not a normal thing.

Finally he tears his gaze from the animals and looks at me. Again I find his eyes momentarily widen. He's the first person I've taken my hood off for, the first person to truly see my face, hair, and eyes in all their glory. The man finally speaks after coming to a decision, "hello lad. I would ask how an outsider made it so far into the neck without sucomming to the dangers it presents. However, seeing the company you keep, makes it much easier to discern."

A small smile plays on his lips but I do not return it. Slowly drawing my sword as frosts growls ratchet up I speak in a measured tone I'm used to using with terrorists, "while I'm happy you've shown yourself to me, you did not identify yourself or the company you yourself keep," I spoke after being informed via mental imagery of 3 other men accompanying this one who remained out of sight.

The man's eyes widen momentailry before he speaks again, "my name is jagen Reed, my I know the name of the intruder to my lands?" He asks with a more serious tone this time that I understand is his 'noble voice'. Keeping my chuckle in at finding the man I was looking for I return his introduction with one of my own.

"Greetings bog devil. I've come to offer a few things that I believe will help not only the north, but the entire world to prepare for the second war of the dawn," I speak with my own 'noble voice.' Unlike the small man in front of me however, I've the blood of kings in my veins.

The man's eyes turn moon wide at me before narrowing dangerously. A few minutes to by with our gazes locked in a battle I don't understand until he breathes a tired sigh and motions with his hand behind him in a gesture I recognize as telling his men to come forward.

Three more small men step out of the shadows. One has the same shade of green eyes and brown hair as jagen Reed. The other two, have ink black hair with brown eyes. The taller of the two, and I say that lightly, given the fact that he's only about 5'6 has a scar across his brow that hints at a sword or knife wound.

The smaller black haired man with what looks to be a black bow and arrow on a field of green comes towards me with a bowl of bread and what I assume to be salt. He nervously stands in front of me while frost doesn't take his eyes off him or his lips back from his teeth even if he's stopped growling for how.

Thouroughly amused by the show of fear and awe in the small crannogmens eyes I pat frost in a placating gesture that causes him to put his lips where they belong and sit like a good boy.

The amusement in the unknown lord reeds voice is impossible to miss when he speaks out, "it seems you're far more interesting that I originally thought, lord Valhalla" the man says with that same weird glint In his eyes that I assume the man to be his father had when we first locked gazes.

I can't help but chuckle in response to the poorly disguised double meaning behind his words as I take a piece of the bread and dip it into the salt.

After chewing and swallowing I speak in return to the young man around my age, "oh you have no idea." I said and by the way the other men around us flinched my eyes had unconsciously started glowing.

AN: decided to get a little more into the story with this one. I changed the need to speak with Cregan stark for later as I need to read more lore to get an idea of how I want to portray him. Keep giving me suggestions in the comments.

One thing I will definitely be doing is bringing giants and mamouths from beyond the wall. I've seen many ff do this but honestly it's the best way to make huge impacts on the north the fastest in a believable way. I'll explain

more on those benefits when the time comes.

Hope you enjoyed it 🙌🏻 I'll be back with more chapters later
