Dealing With The Truth

"At least living on the streets is better than staying with a backstabber." Han Bi told her.

"Believe me,it's not safe. You may call me a monster for what I did but believe it or not,I did what I did for our wellbeing. There's another side to the story, Li Long threatened me on the phone that if he wasn't able to get what he wanted, he would make both our lives hell. He said he would make sure we stayed on the streets and never be able to get a job. Bi believe me I've tasted what life on the streets is like. When I first came here, I was homeless, I spent a month on the streets in both sun and rain but I decided to preserve hoping for a better future but those....." Zheng Zheng did not realize when she burst into tears.

"Those street guys..... One night, they ganged up and raped me. Bi they took away my innocence, four guys all at once. I almost died back then but I refused to give up. A lady saw me behind an uncompleted house,bleeding and half dead and she rescued me by taking me to the hospital. I woke up and she told me the world was cold and cruel and only the tough could survive. I couldn't get a job so she introduced me into another line of business, using what I have to get what I lack." She said and looked at Han Bi who was listening with rapt attention.

"At first I refused, but thinking about it, I had nothing else to lose, I had already lost my innocence to those bastards and I never wanted to relive everything again. I told myself that it would be better to die than to return to that life and be treated like that again." By the time Zheng Zheng was done,she had almost cried her eyes out.

Han Bi dropped her bag and hugged her. "Zheng Zheng why didn't you tell me?" Han Bi was surprised she asked.

"I couldn't because I didn't have the courage to face the truth. Bi I know I've wronged you but please forgive me and stay. I love you like a sister and I don't want you to have such an experience." Zheng Zheng said.
