Chapter-05

Seeing her parents and two employees sitting in front of the shop door. Sophia hurriedly got off the bike and approached them. She occasionally searched for the shop key that she always kept in the bag that she often carried. Her father called, if she didn't bring the shop key and her mother didn't remember the shop key at all. Moreover, Sion and Sophia had been holding the keys to their business.

"Sorry Dad, I'm late again," Sophia said unpleasantly, as she opened the stall door.

Sion let out a long sigh, "You should be the one who feels bad about interrupting your event with your in-laws. Daddy should apologize."

"It's okay, Dad, they just had breakfast at home and then went home."

Still, Sion felt bad, if only Sion had known that maybe he would have gone home and not asked Sophia to come home. His daughter needed time to get to know her husband's family, but unfortunately Sion was interfering with that time.

Sophia didn't listen to the words, she didn't care what her father had said. It's just a key, our Petra doesn't mind this. Her in-laws are quite understanding and don't put too much pressure on Sophia to stay at home. Hence, when Sophia said that her father was waiting for her, Petra immediately allowed Sophia to leave.

"Is it necessary for you to go there?" really, Sion was not happy about this.

Sophia shook her head, "No need Dad, they must have gone home anyway. There's no way Daddy can meet them, you know what they're like?"

Sion knew that her son-in-law's family was very rich, which made her feel uncomfortable if she had to sit in their expensive seats. After moving out, Sion also didn't know where Sophia and her husband's house was, so maybe he could stop by their new house.

Hearing that, Sophia sighed. She wanted to kick out her in-laws who were in her house. But instead, her father wanted to know their house, not what, Sophia just didn't want her father and mother to know what happened in the house.

"Hmm okay, Dad." Sophia finally replied. She felt bad about her father, Sophia was afraid that her father would feel disappointed when Sophia refused. It's just a house, after all, her father wouldn't come to the house every day, right?

Hearing that Sion was quite happy, it didn't matter if it wasn't today, especially since Sophia's in-laws were also at home. Sion could visit his daughter's new house later if he had free time.

Sophia let out a long sigh and smiled. Her father was indeed the most understanding, so that could make Sophia calm for the next few days.

"You seem to be more busy with your wife than me, dear!" Valery was sulking, her shopping trip was canceled because of Shaka's late arrival. Not to mention that it was already late in the afternoon and it put Valery in a bad mood. The expensive bag she wanted had already been bought, so why should she go shopping?

"Honey... gosh, don't sulk. This is all Papa's doing, not Sophia's, we've managed to get away from home. But I didn't know that Papa would follow us to the office."

Yes, after successfully leaving the house with the excuse of quickly going to the office. Shaka chose to reverse direction and wanted to go to Valery's house. Because the streets of the capital city are quite busy, Shaka instead receives an incoming message from his secretary if Petra comes to the office to see Shaka's work. Without thinking, Shaka returned to the office, thinking that his secretary was lying. Arriving at his office, Shaka could see his father who was busy watching Shaka in the doorway.

"Defending your wife again, dear?" Valery sneered.

Shaka shook his head, "There's no point in me defending her. I'm sorry, my father came to the office unexpectedly while I was on my way to your house, dear."

Valery chuckled, picked up a glass filled with wine, and took a slow sip. Seeing that, Shaka took the glass and drained all the contents.

"Don't drink anymore, tonight I will stay at your house as my apology," Shaka said sweetly.

Something like that immediately made Valery happy. "Seriously? What if your wife calls?"

"Can we not talk about her?" Shaka looked annoyed with Valery's words. He had come yesterday to avoid his handicapped wife, so why did Valery have to discuss a person that Shaka didn't want at all?

Taking a deep breath, Shaka decided to clean up first. His body was already sticky with sweat, and it made Shaka uncomfortable at all.

Valery just stared at Shaka's back as he left. It wasn't that she was discussing it, it was just that she had to make sure that if Shaka stayed at her house, his wife wouldn't call her for some nonsensical reason. Whether it was Shaka's mother or father, Valery was sure that Shaka's family was ashamed to have a daughter-in-law like Sophia. A woman with many flaws, a woman who should not be destined to be with Shaka. But in fact...

Valery's reverie was broken when Shaka's cell phone rang loudly. She stared at the screen of Shaka's cell phone which kept misbehaving with a name Valery recognized.

"Honey, please look who's calling," Shaka shouted from the direction of the bathroom. He just poked his head out and showed her a few rows of clean teeth.

Only raising her eyebrows for a moment, Valery decided to give the phone to its rightful owner.

Seeing Valery's lackluster attitude left Shaka confused. He stared at his cell phone screen and swore loudly.

"Hello Pa...."

And here Shaka was. Sitting across from her parents and Sophia's parents who had come to Shaka's new home for who knows what reason. Naturally, the man immediately gave Sophia a sharp look, and she could only look down deeply.

"If I knew you guys wanted to come from the start, maybe I could have bought a decent meal for you," Petra said unpleasantly.

Actually, this meal was more than decent, there were many dishes that Sion and his wife had never eaten. And Petra was saying that this food was not decent?

"It's more than enough, Mr. Petra," replied Sion unpleasantly.

"Look, listen to Dad. This is more than enough. What do you want to serve them, wagyu meat? They'll freeze their tongues eating expensive meat!!!" Mia sneered openly.

Sion just smiled, knowing full well that his mother-in-law didn't like Sophia because of her physique. But Petra loved Sophia like her own daughter. I don't know what path Sion should take, while he knows his daughter's heart must be very painful to hear those words. Words that could cut the hearts of both parents.

"What are you talking about, Mami, at least we should give them decent food, not like this," Petra exclaimed, patting Mia's hand lightly, signaling her not to be disrespectful to her in-laws.

Mia snorted what she said was true, there was nothing wrong. Sion himself had said that all this was more than enough, so why did Petra have to hit Mia's hand like that? Wouldn't that be embarrassing?

"Come on, let's taste the dishes," Petra ordered.

Sion, who was reluctant, probably only took one slice of bread, and so did his wife who also only took one slice of bread like Sion. It's not good if he has to take a lot of this food, Sophia will be ridiculed by her mother-in-law because of the nature of her parents. Sion came here just to see Sophia's new house and nothing more, but Sion was embarrassed when he found out that Shaka's parents were still in this house.

After chatting and enjoying the banquet, Sion finally decided to go home. He didn't feel comfortable staying too long at Sophia and Shaka's house, let alone Shaka's parents. What was clear was that Sion would feel embarrassed because he came with nothing. He thought the house was quiet, maybe there was only Shaka and Sophia too, especially Sophia's story that Shaka liked to come home late at night because he was busy working. But there was...

"We'll take our leave. Thank you for the banquet, sorry for the trouble sir, ma'am," said Sion.

"What is this Mr. Sion talking about, I don't feel inconvenienced. I am happy that you want to visit this house, see Sophia and Shaka's house."

But Sion still felt bad. He came with nothing, unable to give anything to his son-in-law or son. His in-laws had given Sophia a big and comfortable house. The lack of life meant that Sion couldn't do much. Sion and his wife are grateful to be able to eat tomorrow, let alone buy luxury goods for their children and son-in-law.

"Then you'll have to excuse me."

Sion chose to leave, and Sophia felt sad to see her parents leave like that. Even though tonight Sophia asked her parents to stay at her new house. But there...

Sophia stumbled when Shaka suddenly pulled her and almost made Sophia fall. Fortunately, Sophia immediately compensated for herself, so as not to stagger when Shaka pulled her back again. Pushing her roughly into the room, Shaka immediately locked the door to their room so that Petra and Mia wouldn't hear their words.

"You know, you messed up today," Shaka said emotionally.

Sophia shook her head, "I don't know what you mean."

"Today was supposed to be my special day with Valery."

Sophia snorted, and she shook her head quickly. She didn't know what that meant. What ruined Shaka's special day? After all, Sophia hadn't contacted Shaka all day. Then where did Sophia ruin Shaka's special day?
