After three years of marriage, Wendy Stewart was used to Michael Lucas's sarcastic remarks, his frequent threats about getting divorced, and even his indulgence of a mistress. She thought that she could bear with this her entire life, until she accidentally got pregnant with a child that Michael did not want. Finally despondent, Wendy signed the divorce agreement and left. She thought they could have parted ways forever, but Michael refused to stop looking for her after the divorce. When they met again, she was the world's top designer. Smiling sweetly at her ex-husband, she said, "My dear, we're already divorced." Michael simply stared at her coldly, "Tell me, what will it take for us to reconcile?"
When they were out of the elevator, Christian had arranged for a car.
"You can't get in my car," Christian said. "You can follow behind. But if you get in my car, the odds become risky for me. It is only me against the two of you. How could I possibly outfight you?"
"No way. I need to be in the same car as Wendy," Michael said.
"I said no, and I mean it." Christian was determined, and there was no room for negotiation. "Anyway, my actions are closely monitored by you. What are you afraid of? I can't get away with Wendy in this situation, can I?"
Wendy was in his hands, and he had control over how he wanted things to go.
Michael had no other choice and could only say yes to his requests.
Other than the driver, the car only had Christian, Wendy, and Zen in it. Zen's injury was severe. She could not summon any strength to even retaliate. Although Wendy was not injured, Christian could easily restrain her.
