English is my third language. It is my first time writing a story, so I can't guarantee good pacing or character development. Nevertheless, I strive to do my best and improve on quality. This story will be in a slice-of-life setting with occasional action. I have a general direction in mind, but I tend to add cool stuff in between, so we'll see where this takes us. Also, the cover art is one made by AI. Should there be any problems, then contact me so I can take it down. Feel free to leave a review, as this will help me improve (ˊ•͈ ◡ •͈ˋ)!

Chapter 15: A Dragon's Heart to Heart Talk

"Amelia, I understand that Lily's question caught us both off guard," Ethan replied, taking Amelia's hand. "It's something we need to talk about, but I want you to know that being in Lily's life is something I genuinely want."

Amelia looked at him, her eyes softening with affection. "Ethan, you've already been such a positive presence in her life, and I can see how much she cares about you. But becoming her papa is a big step, and it's not a decision we should make lightly."

He nodded in agreement. "You're right, and I don't want to rush into anything. I want you to know that I care about both of you deeply. I want to be there for you both, no matter what."

Amelia smiled, her heart warmed by his sincerity. "Thank you, Ethan. That means a lot to me. Lily is my priority, and I want our decisions to be in her best interest."

Ethan leaned closer, resting his forehead against hers. "I couldn't agree more. I care about you both and want to be a part of your lives in any way you let me."

Amelia's heart swelled with affection, and she reached to cup his cheek. "You already are a part of our lives, Ethan. And I can see how much you care for Lily. She adores you."

He chuckled softly, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "I never thought I'd find myself in this situation, but I wouldn't change it for anything. You and Lily have brought so much joy into my life."

Amelia's fingers gently caressed his cheek, a tender gesture that conveyed her feelings better than words ever could. "And you've brought joy and warmth into ours, Ethan."

As they sat together in the quiet moment of understanding and affection, they knew their bond was growing stronger.

"I promise to be patient, Amelia," Ethan said softly, breaking the silence between them. "We'll take things one step at a time, and I'll support whatever decisions you make for Lily's sake."

Amelia smiled, her heart touched by his words. "Thank you, Ethan. You've been such a wonderful friend and ally throughout all of this. I'm grateful for your understanding."

Ethan leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss on her forehead. "You're worth every bit of effort, Amelia. And if there's one thing I've learned on this journey, it's that some connections are meant to be cherished and nurtured."

Amelia's heart fluttered at his words, and she felt a sense of peace knowing they were both on the same page. As they sat together, hand in hand, they knew that whatever the future held, they were ready to face it as a team.

_____________________________________________________________________________

As the magical disturbances in Arcadia City began to subside, a sense of normalcy returned to the mystical realm. The missing herb remained secured under the council's watchful eye, awaiting further study and understanding.

A stronger bond had formed between Amelia and Ethan. Their hearts had found solace in each other's presence.

One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, Amelia and Ethan were strolling hand in hand through the enchanted forest where they searched for the herb previously. The magical glow of the forest surrounded them, and they felt a sense of peace and contentment. The soft rustling of leaves and the distant melody of woodland creatures created an enchanting atmosphere around them.

"Ehm, Amelia," Ethan began, his cheeks slightly flushed, "I've been meaning to tell you something ... something that's been on my mind for a while now."

Amelia looked at him, her heart fluttering with anticipation. "What is it, Ethan?"

He took a deep breath, gathering his courage. "Amelia, you're like a gentle breeze that swept into my life, bringing a sense of wonder and excitement I've never known before. I couldn't help but be drawn to you from the moment we met."

Her eyes widened, captivated by his words and the sincerity behind them.

He continued, "You're strong, kind, and radiant like the moon in the night sky. Your smile is like the first ray of sunlight after a long winter, and your presence brings warmth to even the coldest days. I can't help but be in awe of you."

Amelia blushed, feeling her heart pound in her chest. "Ethan, I..."

He gently placed a finger on her lips, a soft smile on his face. "Please, let me finish. Every moment I've spent with you has been like living in a dream. And in this dream, I've realized that you've become someone truly special to me."

Amelia's heart raced as she listened to his heartfelt confession.

Ethan took both her hands in his, his eyes locked with hers. "Amelia, I don't know what the future holds for us, but I want to be by your side, supporting you, and cherishing every moment with you. I care about you deeply, and... I'd be honored if you would be my girlfriend."

The air seemed to stand still as Amelia felt surprised and joy welling up within. Her heart was so full of emotions she could hardly put into words.

"Ethan," she whispered, her voice soft and tender.

Amelia's heart was torn as she looked into Ethan's hopeful eyes.

"Ethan," she began softly, "I want nothing more than to be with you. You make me feel alive, and your presence brings me happiness I've never experienced."

"But I'm scared," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "Scared that my love for you might cloud my judgment ... I'll put you in danger without realizing it. You have trained with me but don't have your dragon form yet."

Ethan wiped away her tears with his thumb, his touch soothing. "Then let's face those fears together, Amelia. I promise to be careful and support you in every way I can. We're stronger when we're together."

Amelia's heart swelled with conflicting emotions, but she eventually mustered up her courage.

"Ethan," she whispered, her voice soft and tender, "you've brought so much light into my life.

Your strength, determination, and kindness you show to everyone around you are incredibly inspiring. I've come to admire you more than you know."

Ethan's eyes sparkled with hope as he waited for her response.

"And ... I'd love to be your girlfriend," Amelia finally said, her previously teary cheeks flushed with happiness.

A radiant smile spread across Ethan's face, and he pulled her into a gentle embrace. At that moment, the enchanting forest seemed to glow even brighter, as if celebrating the newfound connection between the two hearts entwined in a magical romance.

As they held each other, Amelia and Ethan knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together.

Phase 1 is now over and we will be entering phase 2 now.

I also recognize the problem with pacing during phase 1, and I admit they were quite strange. There should've been more interaction before one major event after the other. But all in all, I still hope it was still a good read.

I'll do my best during phase 2 to pace my story better and write more detailed actions + interactions.

Well, that's all from me today. Please be sure to comment and review!
