The Goblin Lair II

Several hours had already passed by since Peter had entered the dungeon and things were going smoothly. His shadow army now had a large variety of undead Goblins, from Archers to cavalry. Goblins truly had a variety within their population.

This was now his 9th trial and he wasn't sure how many more trials he would have to go through but he was beginning to feel tired. He had been training nonstop for the past few days with minimal rest and now he was clearing a dungeon, facing trial after trial.

'Noah. Wanna finish it off? I need to rest my mind. Controlling so many shadow soldiers for countless hours is really tiresome.' Peter spoke, meditating and recuperating his mana. Their potions had long finished, so if he was tired, there was not much to do other than swap with Noah and let his consciousness sleep; they found this method to be the most efficient.

'Sure. I was busy trying to decipher all the moves of the 2nd form of the new martial art manual; it's just taking so long. It truly is a 5 star martial art for a reason. I guess I'll just put it on pause for now. I'll clear this dungeon real quick.' Noah shook his head.

The 2 brothers switched consciousness, as one slept, the other continued on through the tenth portal.

A powerful roar resounded as soon as Noah stepped out and he instantly dodged, feeling powerful fireballs flying towards him.

'Magic? It's probably a shaman Goblin. Interesting.' Noah wondered, using the shadow steps spell to zigzag passed the frenzy of exploding fireballs. The heat was so intense it was still burning his skin, even though he was coating his skin with darkness mana.

"I'll take care of you myself." Noah smiled, gripping the sword in his right hand tightly.

Several goblins roared a guttural sound charging towards him but they were met with the clubs of their own races that were now a part of Peter's Undead Army.

The Goblins shrouded in darkness mana all attacked against their own brethren, clashing with their clubs and other maces.

Noah, flash stepped, flickering and reappearing in different locations killing off several goblins all with one swing, before he had finally reached the Shaman.

An invisible magic barrier clashed with Noah's sword, unrelenting of letting the blade touch the wielder of the spell.

The force field lit up in fire before exploding, causing Noah to teleport away using the 'Shadow teleportation' Spell.

'What a cumbersome defense spell.' Noah kissed his teeth. He had used his full power in that swing and only managed to create a small crack in the barrier.

Several more powerful fireballs came his way but he instantly dodged them, teleporting to different locations within the large cave that he had marked.

His shadow soldiers on the other hand weren't so lucky as they immediately perished due to the explosions. They couldn't withstand the power of a High Tier 3 beast.

Noah knew he could defeat the Shaman with the help of the Tier 3's under him and the dozens of Tier 2's but that wouldn't help him. Although the 'Monarch of Darkness' spell was powerful, it wasn't good to become too over reliant on the technique.

He pounced again, this time throwing several arcs of concentrated darkness slashes that created slight cracks within the invisible force field that protected the Shaman.

Immediately, the same burst of flames erupted from around the Shaman causing Noah to retreat back from the intense heat. He used the shadow steps to ricochet off of the walls of the cave before traveling towards the shaman at a rapid speed.

The Shaman was unable to erect the forcefield in time, causing it to take a severed blow to its chest. Noah gritted his teeth augmenting a lot of mana into his blade and muscles, making darkness mana trickle all around his body.

His sword impaled the large hooded goblin's chest. Noah didn't stop there, he finished his foe by cutting upwards and slicing its head in two.

Noah sighed, before finishing off the rest of the low tier goblins there. Shamans were formidable opponents, their defense and offense were truly scary.

Noah was only able to beat it at such a low cultivation stage due to all the boosts he had. Not only was his mana core much larger in size than a regular 4th stage Novice Rank but he also had the Stigma's mana reserves and its buffs in strength.

Altogether, at full power, his power was already nearing the 7th-8th stage Novice Rank. However, adding his undead shadow army numbering in the hundreds now, there was no predicting how powerful he was.

'Exsurge a Mortuis.'

The dead goblins all rose up from their respective positions, to fight again but this time for a new cause.

To serve their master.

Noah swiftly moved through the dungeons clearing them with ease due to the increasing number of undead under his legion. He decided to unleash the full number of undead he could control, which almost spanned to 700 - mixed with now several powerful Tier 3 Shaman Goblins.

Noah hadn't noticed it yet but his shadow army was growing in strength everytime they defeated a foe. It was as if they were absorbing the stench of death from the prey they had killed, strengthening themselves. If either of the Magtris brothers noticed this, they would have already gone on a killing spree.

It was only when Noah had reached the 50th floor after several days of resting and blitzing through the dungeon floors that he had come to a large door. It spanned a whopping 10 meters in height and width and had intricate designs on the outside. He could feel a powerful presence within the chamber but he wasn't sure if he could defeat it.

'Well I can always come back and defeat it, if things don't go well.' Noah reassured himself, as he could feel butterflies in his stomach.

He pushed with all his strength, causing the large doors to the large chamber to finally open.

A powerful mana pressure instantly attacked him, freezing him in his position.

"So you are the one, trampling all over my offspring? A mere human Boy." A loud and arrogant voice bellowed, echoing throughout the large chamber.

Noah spread out his senses to roughly visualize a large 15 meter tall, humanoid half goblin, half troll type beast.

'A 6th tier beast? Sh*t. I don't have the strength to fight it just yet.'

Several other much smaller troll like goblins, kneeled next to the large goblin on the throne and each one of them was in the 4th tier.

Noah was confident he could take out 3-4 of the 10 subordinates next to their leader but ultimately, he would still die.

"Step into this chamber and I, Goblin King Gorgomith, will tear you apart." The Goblin King threatened.

"Just wait. You fat pig. I'll come back for your head." Noah smiled, pointing his sword at him from outside the chamber.

The King's subordinates immediately attacked, pouncing towards Noah but an invisible barrier situated in front of the chamber doors, prevented them from exiting and instead they were repelled back due to the impact.

Noah knew that the Goblins were stuck here, the king had specifically said to step into his chamber meaning he could only ahrm Noah inside, and couldn't do anything after the chamber doors.

"See you in a couple months. You better enjoy your final moments as I will be coming for that head." Noah announced with killing intent, before teleporting away.

He had already placed a magic circle on the shadow of the chamber doors; he planned to come back much stronger and make that Goblin King kneel before him. To do that, he would have to find and kill Tier 4's and Tier 5's and add them to his army.

'I will come back here right before our 1 year period is over.'
