I stood and reached my hand out, I knew that was what she was waiting for. She instantly grabbed my hand and I looked at mom who was smiling with an almost longing look. /"Mom?/" She waved her hands in front of her in dismissal. /"Let's get home. No crying, you will ruin your make up and I doubt that we have the time to get it re-done. Don't want to make Dad wait,/" I forced a smile because the whole day had made me feel the same way. We could have been doing all this with my own child. /"Don't,/" I whispered to myself when mom turned and walked to the front of the salon.
