"Liliana, Meredith. Hey thanks for meeting me here." Izzie smiles as she approaches us, pushing an elderly man in a wheel chair. She called Meredith and I this morning and told us she needed our help, so of course we dropped everything to see what she needed. We were just glad to know that she was alive and okay. It had been weeks since we last heard from her and we had obviously been worried.
"Are you okay?" Meredith asks her.
"Where the hell have you been?" I frown.
"I've been in Chehalis with my mom." Izzie says.
"This is not Chehalis. Where the hell are we?" The elderly man asks.
"We're in Seattle, Dr. Singer. These are Dr. Grey and Dr. Garcia, my friends." She told him. "This is Dr. Singer. He was my high school science teacher. A brilliant man, he fought for me. He's the reason I became a surgeon." Izzie says introducing us.
"I appreciate you two taking the time out to see us, but I promised Isobel's algebra 2 teacher I'd have her back in time for 5th period." Dr. Singer says.
"I'm confused." Meredith frowns.
"So is he. Nursing home diagnosed him with Alzheimer's, but he's been falling. He could have a bleed." Izzie says.
"He's wearing pajamas and an overcoat. What'd you do sneak him out in the night?" Meredith asks Izzie.
"No." Izzie scoffs.
"Early this morning." Dr. Singer says.
"You kidnapped him?" Meredith frowns.
"Can you two please just sneak him in to see Derek. Put him on the schedule, please." Izzie begs.
"So let me get this right, you've been in Chehalis the whole time without letting anyone know if you were dead or alive and the only reason you came back is to bring a confused sickly man for Derek to look at?" I frown.
"Yes." Izzie nods making Meredith and I both hit her on the arm.
"Ow, ow. Stop hitting me." Izzie says.
"You deserve to be hit. It is unbelievable that you can just pick up and leave and not let anybody that cares about you know if you're okay. You're selfish." I tell her and Meredith nods her head in agreement
"We were worried about you." Meredith says.
"Look, please, can you get him in to see Derek. I'll be back later." Izzie tells us beginning to walk away.
"No, you can not leave him here." Meredith says,
"I'm not going in."
"Yes you are. You need to let Alex know you're okay. Remember your husband that was there for you during the toughest time of your life." I tell her.
"I am not going in there."
"Yes, you're going in. So he got you pregnant, so what." Dr. Singer says.
"You're pregnant!" Meredith and I frown.
"No, he thinks I'm 15 years old." She explains.
"Right." Meredith says.
"You're gonna go into that school and show those cheerleaders you have nothing to be ashamed of. Those little bitches are poisonous." Dr. Singer says making me hold back a laugh. We agree to get Derek to look at Dr. Singer, but we make Izzie come with us to the ER. Meredith and I go to find Cristina while Derek begins examining Dr. Singer. After we found Cristina we tried to find Alex, but we didn't see him anywhere so we returned to the ER where we see Izzie talking to Derek.
"Where have you been. You missed your IL-2 appointment." Cristina says walking up to Izzie.
"You guys told Cristina I was here. Who else did you tell?" Izzie asks.
"Well, well, well. Look who's back" Charles says walking over with a smirk on his face.
"This guy. You told the guy who got me fired." Izzie says glaring at Meredith and I.
"I didn't tell him. I don't even know him, it's my first day back." Meredith says making Izzie glare at me.
"Don't look at me. I don't talk to him." I shrug.
"Dr. Percy is on my service today." Derek explains.
"And I didn't get you fired. You did that all by yourself." Charles says making Izzie roll her eyes.
"Dr. Percy, Dr. Singer needs a full dementia workup. Dr. Stevens will give you the details." Derek tells Charles.
"I wish Dr. Stevens would give me the details, but I'm just the person who saved her life." Cristina says.
"Ok." Izzie says not wanting to hear Cristina's lecture.
"You know that if you miss another IL-2 treatment..." Cristina begins to say.
"I got my treatment at Seattle Pres. I may not be a doctor here anymore, but I'm not an idiot." Izzie says.
"Iz." Meredith says as we look up and see Alex. He was clearly shocked once he saw Izzie standing there. He set his chart down and immediately rushed off.
"Izzie you need to go talk to him. He's your husband." I tell her.
"Dr. Singer needs me right now." Izzie says before walking back into Dr. Singers room.
"Unbelievable." I shake my head, before walking off to go find Alex. I tried to stay neutral when it came to Alex and Izzie's marriage, but her actions were so unbelievably selfish and unfair to action. I don't know if she realized the hell she was putting him through.
"Liliana." Cristina says following behind me
"Yeah." I say stopping to see what she needs.
"About last night." She says.
"Cristina, you don't have to explain anything to me. Whatever you and Jackson have going on is not my business." I shook my head.
"There is nothing going on with Avery and I. We were just drunk and we'd been in surgery together all day and we ended up kissing." She said. "It's not going to happen again. Ever. I love Owen and Avery obviously has a thing for you." She says.
"He does not." I frown.
"Come on, Liliana. Everyone sees how he looks at you every time you two are in a room together and I saw him trying to talk to you in the hallway yesterday. He'd ask you out if you weren't so harsh all the time."
"You out of all people do not get to call me harsh." I frown.
"Look I'm just saying, Avery doesn't seem a like he'd be a total waste of time. Maybe you could at least have one good conversation with him instead of shutting him down every time." She says before walking away.
I didn't have time to think about Jackson right now. I had to focus on finding Alex and making sure that he was okay. After searching the hospital, I eventually found him in CT.
"Hey." I say giving Alex a sympathetic smile as I walk into CT. He continued to stare at the scans, not acknowledging me.
"She has been staying with her mom in Chehalis. I don't know how long she's staying, if she's staying. She has been keeping up with her IL-2 treatments, that much I do know. That's all I know." I tell him as he continues staring at the CT scans. " Alex, I'm here if you want to talk about it or if you just want someone to sit with you." I tell him patting him on the shoulder before going to check Dr. Shepherds patients then assisting him on a brain bleed operation. After finishing surgery I join Meredith, Cristina, and Alex in the cafeteria.
