Chapter 4 - A Really Advanced System

As Matthew stood in the desolate alley, the name of the system echoed in his mind. "Ultimate Mafia System, eh? All-powerful Godfather, huh? Well, this is gonna be one hell of a ride!"

He couldn't help but smirk at the prospect of wielding such power in this unfamiliar world. The thought of becoming the ultimate puppet master, orchestrating the intricate dance of organized crime, fueled his excitement.

The system's voice, smooth, authoritative and gender-neutral chimed in his consciousness, offering guidance.

[ Host, you can say or think 'System' to open up the system interface ]

Matthew, with a mix of anticipation and mischief, thought the word 'System.' In an instant, a sleek interface materialized before him, the contrast of black background and white text presenting an array of options.

Matthew stared at the sleek interface of the Ultimate Mafia System, intrigued by the possibilities it held. The locked sections piqued his curiosity, but for now, he decided to explore the settings.

'Huh?' Only Objectives and System Settings is unlocked. Before we dive right in, lets check out the Settings first.'

He imagined clicking on the System Settings, and a new window appeared, offering a few intriguing options.

"Hmm, let's see what we've got here," Matthew muttered to himself as he delved into the settings.

[ Host, you can change the interface background color with the first option ]

[ The second option allows you to alter the addressing name that the system will respond to. Without the need of saying 'System' every time ]

[ The third option will change the way the system will address the host, instead of saying 'Host' every time ]

Matthew grinned, realizing the potential for personalization. "Alright. I like the black interface, but saying 'System' constantly will get old fast. Let's change that."

He imagined selecting the second option and pondered for a moment. "How about 'Quirk'? Yeah, that sounds cool."

''Quirk', I like it.' he patted himself on coming up with such a sleek name.

'Also I don't wanna be called host every time. Make me feel like there is a sentient alien parasite in my body' the though irked him a bit "eugh..." he shivered a little.

"Lets change that too. Let's go with something classic. Call me 'Sir,'" Matthew declared as he was fiddling with the system's settings.

'I gotta give it to that Squeed-Demon-Guy. He maybe a demon, but he is really a genius. He thought of everything. Neat!!'

After he was done Matthew now felt a sense of camaraderie with the 'System' which he now addressed as 'Quirk'. The black interface remained, and Sir Matthew, with a satisfied nod, prepared to explore the objectives section.

He thought in his mind and opened the objectives section -

║ This tutorial quest series is arranged to

║ help the host familiarize himself with 

║ the world and kickstart the host's 

║ adventure to the apex of the underworld.

║ When Tutorial Quest #1 starts you will 

║ be granted access to the city map and a 

║ simple outfit in the wardrobe.

║ Follow the instructions or complete the 

║ objectives to complete the quest -

Matthew eagerly hit 'Start' with is mind and the system's voice chimed again.

[ Quest Started : Tutorial Quest #1 ]

[ Map : Unlocked ]

[ Received Map : Verbindung City ]

[ Wardrobe : Unlocked ]

[ Received Outfit : Smart Causal Attire #1 ]

"Cool," Matthew murmured.

Then he opened the Map. A holographic black and white image of a city appeared in front of him. the buildings were filled with white color and roads and empty spaces were left with the black background.

He then saw a yellow dot between two buildings on a very narrow road on the map "I guess that's me." His eyes then shifted to X mark in red on the map "And that's where I have to go. Dude its so far! Well its one step at a time I guess."

'Should I keep my map open though? I don't think other people will be able to see it.' He still asked Quirk to confirm it, "Hey, Quirk can other people see the system interface."

[ No Sir, the system interface is only visible to you ]

'Thought so.' he grinned.

'Lets check the outfit then.' he opened the wardrobe and selected the only option that was available there which was 'Smart Casual Attire #1' he selected it and another window appeared.

║ Shirt, Navy Blue Trousers, and Golden 

║ Brown leather shoes.

Matthew looked at it and clicked use. Instantly is clothes changed to a White Shirt, Stretchable Navy Blue Trousers and casual Brown leather shoes. 

"Wow, this outfit looks and feels top-notch. 'Brandless' but definitely on par with the best," Matthew marveled as he judged his new outfit.

Satisfied with his clothes he started walking towards his destination while humming a familiar tune from his previous world.
