As Oliver listened to the Shogun's declaration, he couldn't shake off the feeling of being a pawn in a much larger game. He turned to Fujikiri, his voice low to avoid attracting unnecessary attention.
"What is happening here? Why is the Shogun involved in my mother's disappearance, and what connection does she have to all of this?" Oliver asked, his eyes searching for any hint of sincerity in Fujikiri's mysterious gaze.
After coming to the dynasty, he knew that even though the empress had a considerable amount of power, she would be nothing without the old woman in front of him. Normally, he would act confident and prideful in front of these types of women so they wouldn't underestimate him, but Oliver knew better than anyone what really talented women looked like.
In Shougun's shadow, Oliver was able to see his own mother's talent. He knew without this old woman, the Tetsukyojin Dynasty wouldn't be even half of what it is now.
