23 Sasuke's Dilemma

The rest of the day had been pretty calm so far. However, that seemed to be just some kind of prelude to the storm that emerged the next day.

As the next day arrived, some news broke out that shook the whole village. Apparently, the Uchiha clan was about to be moved to the outskirts of the village. For certain reasons that were unknown to many, the authorities were having some doubts regarding the Uchiha and grew suspicious of them.

As soon as Hinata heard of this news, she fell into deep thought. Throughout the past years, she slowly lost trust in her future knowledge which states that the Uchiha clan would be massacred. However, it looks like the village losing trust in them was still the same. As for why Hinata only had an idea but he was not sure.

The main reason the Uchiha clan got massacred was because they planned a coup d'état and Itachi decided to betray his clan for the village. In this universe, Hinata had still seen traces of the Uchiha's arrogance and judging from that viewpoint, there is a possibility that they are dissatisfied with the fact that they are not ruling the village which their clan co-founded. They probably haven't been massacred yet only because Minato was the Hokage at this timeline.

This was the closest guess Hinata could come up with. I mean, they already did it in another universe, why can't they do it again in this universe... right?

The next day, classes haven't started yet so they were still together. Sasuke was seen brooding over in one corner that he started resembling his canon emo version. Hinata thought it was because his clan was being ostracized so she tried to comfort him. She didn't want Sasuke to hate the village and this was the best thing she could do. When she tried comforting him though, Sasuke's response was completely different from her expectations. She didn't hate the village at all. In fact...

"I don't care about that stinking clan. I hate them. I hate the Uchiha clan that my father rules! People had been looking at us in bad light ever since Madara defected. My brother worked so hard to change that. He worked so hard for many years to change the village's perception of us and to gain their acknowledgment. He willingly became their weapon that they could use against enemies and when his efforts finally started to come to fruition, those despicable elders and my bastard father came in and destroyed all of it in one go. They want to overthrow the village's rule over them!", Sasuke vented with so much hate. In fact, he even started releasing a bit of killing intent. At the end of his narration, his eyes became mad for a bit before suddenly welling up with tears.

Before anybody could react, his eyes suddenly became crimson red and with one tomoe each revolving around his pupils. Everyone watching was shocked by the sudden development. Sasuke was also stunned that he forgot how he was about to cry. In his vision, the world suddenly became slower and everything seemed to be clearer.

Hinata thought, "Huh, you can also awaken it this way. Makes sense though. The Sharingan is triggered by intense emotions and feelings and hate and anger are feelings and emotions."

Because of the sudden awakening of his Sharingan, Sasuke was at least able to calm down. He cut off his eye's chakra supply and turned it back to normal. He then took a deep breath and sucked his tears back to where they came from. His face then returned to his usual aloof expression. It was just that his eyes now were blank.

Hinata sighed as she saw Sasuke's condition. She really didn't want Sasuke to fall into the path of hate as he did in the canon. She had been pretty chill with the Sasuke in this universe despite him still being a bit arrogant because he wasn't that hate-driven bastard he was in the canon.

She seriously looked at Sasuke and said, "Do you really hate your father and clan that much? What will you do if you gain the strength to stop them?"

"I will kill them all! They don't deserve to live after what they did. My brother fought for our clan's future but they completely disregarded his efforts and decided to take things according to their own interests!"

Hinata shook her head and said, "Fine, but just remember to not let hate control you. Remember that even among your clan, many are innocent and had no part in this. I'm just saying because I don't want you growing up and just straight up slaughtering your whole clan, do I?"

With this, Sasuke seemed to have calmed down a bit and made him think, "That's right. I remember my brother saying that it was mostly the elders and my father who were planning for this. Some don't even know about it so they just blame the village for falsely accusing them."

Hinata sighed in relief since Sasuke seems to be a bit more level-headed currently. Although she can't be sure that this would last, it was still a work in progress.

Hinata then thought for a moment before asking Sasuke something. "Sasuke, what you have just said right now is very valuable information. All of our clans here are very loyal to the village and so are we...", she says as she gestures to the rest who had been listening intently since the beginning.

"If you won't mind, we will immediately report this to our families. But if you don't want us to, you have our promises to not let a word of it escape this room.", she continues while making a zipping motion.

Sasuke immediately replies, "Report them for all I care! Maybe through this, I can also help my brother a little bit."

Hinata suddenly remembered something. She got everyone's attention and said, "Before we all forget, keep the matter about Sasuke awakening his Sharingan a secret too."

Sasuke growled after hearing that and agreed, "Yes. My loving father would definitely love another tool for him to use. That bastard always claims to love me and my brother but he only loves us as his tools, nothing more."
