Ezra returned to school the following week feeling quite refreshed. Arthur was caring throughout the time of his heat. He brought him a lot of clothes for his heat. He sat in his seat and waited for him to come.
"Ezra," Aurora stood in front of him, her hands were on the table. She looked upset.
"Oh, good morning," Ezra greets her politely smiling. "Is there something I can do for you?"
"I asked you to give Arthur my number, did you?"
Ezra remembers that day. "Yes I did," he replied honestly. "He threw it away almost immediately."
Aurora nodded and let go of the table. "Okay," she said, and then turned around to leave, she saw Arthur standing by the door, glaring at her.
"Good morning, Arthur," Aurora greets him, cheerfully.
Arthur doesn't respond to her, just passes her coldly and walks to Ezra.
"How are you?" he asks Ezra touching his forehead worriedly.
"I'm fine," Ezra replies smiling happily.
Arthur observes him for a while then smiles in relief. "Okay."
Aurora wanted to speak to Arthur but she was stopped by one of the students of that class. "Don't interrupt them," he said. "It wouldn't be fun to be on the other end of Arthur's murderous gaze."
Aurora frowns in confusion. Everybody nodded in unison. "What do you mean?"
The girl who spoke to Ezra to weeks ago and felt Arthur's glare said, "Allow me to demonstrate," she said.
"Hey, Ezra do you need help catching up on what you missed the past week?"
Almost immediately, Arthur looked at her coldly. "No, he doesn't need your help," he replies.
The girl got a bit angry. "Well, you weren't in school almost throughout last week either," she said sassily.
"You weren't in school throughout last week?" Ezra exclaimed a bit, he looked at Arthur disapprovingly.
"You were sick!" Arthur said defensively.
"And I don't keep your legs," Ezra said. He wasn't happy with Arthur and it showed a lot.
Arthur looked very pitiful. "I'm sorry," he said.
Ezra shook his head. "I'm quite disappointed," he said then looked at the girl, smiling at her. "I hope you don't mind helping the both of us catch up?" he asked.
The girl blushed a bit. "Sure," she replies smiling sweetly at Ezra.
"See how Arthur looks like he's about to cause chaos?" a student said to Aurora.
Aurora could understand what was going on between Arthur and Ezra. She feels quite jealous of their relationship but if she tries to wreck their relationship, it might not be good because of how protective Arthur is of Ezra.
"I see," she said. "But will she be okay?"
Everyone looked at the girl in front of Ezra and Arthur's table. "Who knows? I don't think she thought this far."
"Can we meet up after school on Wednesday? I have archery practice today and tomorrow," Ezra said politely.
"Sure, thing," she replied.
She left almost immediately feeling very happy and content. Meanwhile, Ezra looks at Arthur disappointedly. "Why didn't you come to school?" he asked in a calm voice.
"I was too worried about you," Arthur replies.
Ezra smiled softly and patted Arthur's back a bit. "That isn't the first time it's happened to me though," he said.
Arthur pouts sadly. "I just wanted to help," he said acting pitifully.
Ezra's heart softened a lot. "I know," he said. "I would probably do the same for you, so I shouldn't be upset with you," he mumbles resting his head on his desk.
Arthur's mind fluttered happily and he poked at Ezra playfully. "You are so cute," he said, poking Ezra's soft cheek.
Ezra blushed a bit and turned his face to the other side. "Leave me alone," he said.
Arthur grins a bit and stops.
"My favorite archer!" Ms. Winefry said happily in front of Ezra. "How are you doing? I heard you weren't well," she said holding Ezra's face and looking at his eyes. "You look fine now," she said.
"I am," Ezra replies smiling.
"Good, good," Ms. Winefry said contentedly. "Because you would need a lot of your strength for the upcoming national archery competition," she said.
"I already said I wasn't participating," Ezra said.
"What?" Ms. Winefry exclaimed covering her mouth. "But I already registered your name," she said. "I also managed to convince the a**hole to give you permission."
'A**hole?' Ezra thought puzzled. 'Who is he talking about?'
"Mr. Dumas," Ms. Winefry said.
Ezra's mouth was opened agape. "How were you able to convince him?" he asked in surprise.
Ms. Winefry smirked a bit and turned to the side looking at Arthur. "Is your boyfriend planning on joining us?" she asked.
"I don't think so," Ezra replies.
"Pretty boy!" Ms. Winefry shouted to Arthur.
Arthur turns his gaze from Ezra to her. "Yes?" he responded.
"Do you plan on joining us? Or do you plan on just watching?" Ms. Winefry asked.
"Watching!" Arthur shouts back.
"Alright!" Ms. Winefry shouted in return and turned back to Ezra. "Your boyfriend is going to be watching," she said.
Ezra blushed a bit and covered his face, embarrassed by her behavior. "You are unbelievable."
