"Yeah, yeah whatever, it's not my fault you didn't bring yours back from Mars"
Laughing with the new friend right behind me, she yelled back,
"He's not from Mars he's from Jupiter"
We laughed as a herd of dead bodies came toward us, heart pounding and legs going as fast as they could we ran into the car, away from the monstrosity we headed home. ( a week later)
By midnight a fever broke through my body, and just kept growing. Hermine would bring a wet dish cloth every 10 minutes to check on me. For the past week we've grown more into sister's, and the guy we picked up was now my boyfriend. He died the day before, protecting me from the dead growing more desperate for food by the minute. I was bitten by one that day as well.
"You know what the craziest thing is"
I shrugged knowing I would die by saying one word.
"It's the fact that when I met you I hated you because you were alive and my family wasn't. I honestly don't want you to go."
I looked at her with tears going down her face and red rims around mine I spoke for the last time.
"The way I see this moment is if you want the rainbow, you have to put up with the rain that comes"
She was about to answer but the only word I heard her say was,
"You never know."
I passed that morning, but left my heart for her on a piece of paper.
My dearest friend I have not gone to a bad place, but one with light. My face may not be visible but the smile is always there; My heart may not be pounding but the love will never leave; I love you my friend, and if there's another world where I may love then I promise I'll love you more there.
Sincerely, Sasha Jupiter
