Nathaniel was angered. Noam had turned his sister into a monster. She craved blood everywhere she turned, she was looking for a reason to be angry at him even when he had done nothing wrong.
And the person to blame for that was the alpha. His blood thirsted for the alpha's blood, right there while he wasn't in a disguise. He felt the need to just cut open his neck and let him bleed out.
"Why do you get so angry at me?" Noam inquired. He was so tired of feeling how upset the demon was with him.
He had done nothing to the man and yet, all he received was hatred and anger from the man.
"Don't pretend to care. I know you have no heart," Nate let out to him.
Nathaniel and found himself pinned to the wall by Noam. The man was growing out of patience with the demon, simply because he kept quiet, did not mean that the male could say what he wished to him.
"Are you sure that I have no heart?" He questioned. Nathaniel gulped. "It is easier to find reasons to hate but you'll never need a reason to love someone?" Noam added.
Nathaniel tried to move, he was held in place by the alpha who was unmoving. He couldn't get away from the male.
"Let me ask you a question demon, have you ever loved anyone in your life?" Noam asked.
Nathaniel stopped moving. Looking back, he had never had time in his life to love anyone and could never find a reason to be in love.
Revenge was the only thing in his mind since before. The dream of getting even with the creatures that took his family away from him. That was all he had to go on.
So he was not able to answer the question thrown at him. Love was a subject that he knew nothing about, he had lost his family at a young age so even family love was denied to him.
Other than his goal of vengeance, he had nothing much to go on. It was weird how it took Noam to show him what a meaningless life he had led.
Fueled with anger and grief he sort to kill and let his life slip away from him. He had no good memories that he could look back to or an ex he can claim he once loved.
He was completely alone.
"I will love you to the moon and back. More than all the stars in the sky," Noam confessed.
Nathaniel heard the sound of their heart pounding against his chest. He had butterflies in his stomach on hearing the demon alpha's voice.
His eyes softened without him even realizing it and his resistance decreased. He glanced into Noam's eyes trying to find something in them that he had been lacking all his life.
The alpha didn't shy away from his gaze. Noam met his gaze with a matched intensity. Everything else was fading into the background. Nathaniel could only see his reflection in Noam's eyes and that gave him such comfort that he could not comprehend.
"Have you ever had the honor of whispering these words to anyone?" Noam asked him.
Nathaniel could not answer. The answer was at his lips but he could not bring himself to say it. He could not say that at his age the closest thing he has ever had to such feelings were the times spent with Noam.
He was the first person that Nate had ever been so close to. "Answer me demon," Noam whispered in his ear pressing for the answer.
Noam was curious to know, what truth lay behind the demon's eyes. He had so much hate in his heart, surely, he must have loved to come to hate with so much passion.
"N..no," Nathaniel let out softly and nervously. His breath had caught, his chest moved up and down slowly. He struggled to even his breath with Noam standing so close that the alpha's breath was tickling his skin.
"Was I your first kiss?" Noam inquired. He narrowed his eyes at the demon. He wanted nothing but the truth from him.
Nathaniel was reminded of the kiss they shared at the hotel. He pressed his lips together in hesitation, answering the question seemed as difficult as killing the alpha himself.
He lowered his eyes not to look at Noam in the eye. He was trapped with no way to escape, his face was turning a shade of red.
Noam intensified his gaze on him. The shyness in Nathaniel's face told him what he wanted to know about his question but he needed the male to say the words.
"Is it so hard to answer me demon?" He caressed the man's cheek gently waiting for his answer.
The anger that Nate felt towards him had faded away. The man could barely get his mind to think straight as to how they ended up in that situation.
His mind had stopped working the very minute that Noam came close to him. He was so close that their bodies were touching. The alpha made him uncomfortable.
"Should I wait till Christmas to get my answer?"
Nathaniel lifted his head at his question. It wasn't that he didn't want to give him the answer. He was just too embarrassed to tell him the truth.
