The Call

It's been almost a week and there's been no word from the police. Then my phone started to ring. It was from James. I picked it up and it is still the worst call of my life. It was James screaming for bloody murder and almost like he was being tortured. He was begging for help and sobbing his eyes out. He sounded like an animal.

The call ended abruptly. I stood there trying to process what just happened. I called the policemen that called me down to the station. After I told him about the call there was a long and quiet pause. "You need to come down to the station immediately." Then he hung up.

At the station, I barely walked into the lobby and he told me to come into his office.

It's a good thing I record my calls to give him proof that the call happened. I asked him if I could step out while he listened, I never wanted to hear that call again. He nodded and I went back into the lobby five minutes later he comes with his face pale as a sheet and his face showing what he heard was horrible.

He handed me my phone and said that he would update me if he got any more information but I knew that was a big fat pile of bs.

I was done depending on the police to find my brother. Were they even looking? Like the saying goes if you want something done right you have to do it yourself.
