Chapter 6 Battle with Snake Man

Snake men, covered in gray scales, some with bows and arrows in their hands, others brandishing short swords, rushed out of the woods to attack the trolls. The leader of the group, a bald man with red eyes, sat astride a large greenish-gray snake with a leaf in his mouth. When he blew on the leaf, the greenish-gray serpent immediately opened its mouth and lunged at the trolls.

With the help of the snake, the snake men quickly gained the upper hand in the battle. Although Snake men were shorter than the trolls, they were more agile in comparison. In the battle with the trolls, Snake men would jump onto the trees to avoid attacks, and they would also circle around to the back to sneak an attack before the troll could react.

Klaus stared at the large greenish-gray snake and activated the panel's parsing function.

The green snake let out a miserable scream, and then its whole body instantly fell to the ground from mid-air. However, the green snake's fangs were still nailed to Abe's arm like a nail, and dark red blood flowed down from Abe's arm.

Klaus saw that the red-eyed Snake Man was leading the other Snake Men to escape in the opposite direction of the woods. So he immediately went after them, but his feet were immobilized just two steps out.

A snake woman with dark hair was whispering to the trolls, and suddenly, all the trolls couldn't move.

"It's a petrification spell!" Then Klaus yelled at Lyme, "Lyme, do something!"

"I can't move." As Lyme said this, his body slowly began to petrify from the bottom up.

The Snake Man's petrification spell was able to delay the trolls' attack and buy them more time to escape. The petrified troll was as immobile as a statue and could only wait for the spell to expire.

He used one hand to break the branches that blocked his view, and finally he saw the bald Snake Man running just ahead of him. So, he raised his spear and threw it at his target.

The bald Snake Man's back was pierced by the spear and his body fell forward violently. The other end of the spear plunged into the ground first, and the Snake Man just tilted his body and was hanging on the spear. At this point, Klaus had already fixed his eyes on him. The smell of blood in the woods inspired Klaus's desire to kill, and he desperately chased after the Snake Man.

The other Snake Men saw this and immediately jumped into the swamp to hide. Usually, people entering the swamp would die. But Snake Men wouldn't; they entered the wetland, transformed into snake form, and could survive in the wetland.

Klaus grabbed the snake woman just as she was about to jump into the swamp. He seized her by the hair and threw her to the ground.

The woman spat blood and collapsed to the ground, unable to move, but Klaus showed no mercy to the woman. He wrapped his hands around the woman's neck and stared right at her.

"If you go now and reveal the secret of the petrification spell to my people, I will consider letting you live. Otherwise, I will rip your head off. Is that understood?"

The woman nodded, and fear filled her eyes as she looked at Klaus.
