B: When he yelled at her she stepped back. She was taken back by his harshness. She listened to him as he dogged on Paris. She closed her eyes and shook her head. When he asked if she came to seduce him, she looked at him with confusion. "Isaac, the Paris Institute is not a bunch of book worms. They are highly trained hunters that like to study things that is all. And no, I did not come here to seduce you. I came here to see why you gave up hunting. To see why you turned your back on the people who love you." She spoke to him coolly and with a soft voice.
She was concerned about him. She still loved him and truthfully came to fix what they had, but she could see that he wanted nothing to do with it. "Isaac, also came to see if we could fix what we had, but I guess I am too late for that. All I ask is you come back to the institute and stop drinking that mundane poison." She said with a loving voice. "Please, we need you. The demons are getting stronger. There are more and I would like to have my hunting partner back. Seth and his girlfriend have started their own team and I have no one. Please come back with me." She looked at him with caring eyes.
I: "Come back to what? Come back for what?" He sat down and put his hands together and gently shook his head as he gave her an endearing smile. "You can't fool me Jess." He looked into her eyes firmly. "You can't tell me that there is anyone back there who gives a damn about me. You can't stand there and tell me you want me back as a partner, as a friend, because you care about me. You don't care about me. You left the Institute for yourself. You stayed in Paris for four years, for yourself. You knew I came to look for you. You knew I went after you, and you knew I was going to chase you, search for you, find you, and love you harder than I ever had. Yet you avoided me, not to help me, not to cure me, not to fix me or look past my faults. You did it for yourself. Now look at you."
He glanced up and down. "You are beautiful. You are smart. You are passionate about our world. You have turned your back on the mundane way and become an expert hunter. You are stunning, and still you manage to hide the fact that your selfishness is what made you leave, and your pity is what dragged you back. If I was thriving, if I was doing well, if I was with another woman, if I was happy that you were gone, if you walked through that door and saw a man who wasn't drunk, who wasn't depressed, who wasn't lonely...THEN you would hurt the way I do. THEN you would believe that when I said I loved you, that it was a lie."
He looked at her seriously. "But it wasn't a lie Jess. It was never a lie. So, I'm not doing well. So, I did give up hunting. I gave up my family. I gave up my friends. I gave up being right, being sophisticated. I picked up a bottle and drank, I put down my Stele and sat on my ass waiting for something wonderful to happen. because I meant what I said. I meant that I loved you. I meant that I needed you. What did you expect to find Jess? Hmm? What did you expect me to be? A lovesick hunting fool who was still waiting for you? This is what you wanted!"
He stood and turned as he grabbed another bottle and began to sip it. "Get the hell out of my house." He began to stumble to his stairs.
B: "I care about you. I do love you, Isaac. I did not avoid you, Isaac. When you tried to break in, I was on a mission in Russia. I was out of Paris. I went to Paris to get help." She said calmly. "I came back because I wanted to. I had no idea this is what you had done. No one told me you were gone till I asked Seth about you because I knew that the fight, we had was my fault and that I needed to fix it." She said looking at him.
She looked at him as he listed everything he gave up on and she was sad. "No, I expected better from the man who brought me back, but I guess he is gone. I guess the man I came back for to be with, to love, to give myself to, to be with, to hunt with, to hopefully one day marry is gone." She said with tears spilling down her face. When he told her to get the hell out, she sighed. "Fine, Isaac. I will, but know when I walk away, we are done. I will give up on you. I will forget about what we had and move on." She said with hurt in her voice. She headed for the door.
I: Isaac stopped and the bottle nearly fell to the floor. "Stop saying that!" He yelled back. He could not stand to hear her say it over and over when it was nothing but lies! "No one told you!? Oh, so you care now when someone tells you!? You would have known for yourself if you were here! If you would have stayed- you- Get your ass back here!"
He dashed after her as she made her way to the door and he grabbed her hand to swing her back. "You can't run from it Jess! That's all you ever do is leave me! Run away! Look what it does to me! LOOK AT ME!" He grabbed her arms to make her stand there, he wasn't hurting her, he was simply firm. "Don't you ever walk away from me again. I swear that it will make me do something terrible Jess. I can't stand seeing you walk away from me! Always walking away! Always turning your back one me! What do you want?" He grabbed her chin to make her look up at him. "Tell me what you want!! I begged you not to go! I begged you the first time you came back to my loft after your coma! I told you how much I needed you! Why do you keep leaving me!? I won't let you escape this Jess! You can't keep doing this shit to- to-" He released her and picked up one of the bottles and threw it against the wall until it shattered into a million pieces.
"You can't keep running away from me!" He grabbed her from the door and pushed it shut locking it with the deadbolt. "They kept you for four years Jess. Four goddamn years! I won't let anyone have you for another second! Whether you want to stay and fight, scream. yell at the top of your lungs then do it! But you will do it here! Right here! Your ass isn't going anywhere."
He grabbed her by her hips and threw her over his shoulder and he marched angrily up the stairs not letting her escape him. Drunk or angry, he was still far stronger than her. He carried her to his bedroom, and he tossed her onto the bed, and he slammed his bedroom door closed. he put his back to the door and folded his arms and blocked her from leaving.
He stared at her for a moment before tears rushed to his eyes. "What do you mean marry me?" He asked with such sadness. "Why are you lying about that Jess? Why are you trying to hurt me? Why?" He wiped the tears away and refused to cry in front of her. "Why must you keep hurting me with words like that? Why Jess? Why must you hurt me so badly? Can't you see that I'm weak? Can't you see that you have won!? I have suffered so much Jess I-" He covered his face and tried to calm his anger. "I have lost everyone. Everything. Why did you come back to hurt me more? Can't you see I have no more fight in me? I can't fight anymore." He slid down the doorway and sat on the floor and tried to keep from sobbing. "You aren't going until I say you can go."
