Digging into her past, queen of rejections.

Calix's pov

" Hi everyone. Hi, love. Hi minion." A lady in her late 20s greeted Calix, Lion and the other people she found in the room with them. 

The lady had a majestic appearance with a serene aura around her that made everyone feel free around her. She had blonde hair with blue higlights and big round ocean blue eyes with a smooth oval shaped face. 

" Morning miss Emmy." The group of people greeted the lady back.

" morning Emmy. And I would appreciate if you stopped calling me minion." Lion answered 

Emmy laughed and said, " Who said I was referring to you and why did that idiot over there not response." She said as she tilted her head in Calix's direction. 

" I do not know you shoud ask him yourself." Lion responded in a bored tone.

" how dare you talk to me like that." Emmy said fake stern voice. 

" You want to know don't you?" Lion responded 

" Okay, okay, Fine. I am not that curious about my idiotic little brother but I am curious about the crowd watching him like he is some exotic show. What is up with that?" Emmy asked 

" That is because your brother is acting like one." Lion answered as he did not even bother to look up from the phone he was playing with. 

" What do you mean? Is my brother finally losing it? Is he sick?" Emmy asked an unbothered Lion. 

" Yeah, he is sick but not kind of sick. That is why he has a crowd around him." Lion answered 

" What do you mean? Why have you not taken him to the hospital as yet?" Emmy asked as she took Lion's shoulders and violently shook him. 

" He is not sick sick, Emmy. He is just love sick." Lion said 

" What do you mean, He is not sick sick. Do you know how important that idiot is to me?" Emmy said to Lion before the last part sunk in and she paused with a bewildered look on her face. 

" Wait, What?" Emmy said as she took a step back and looked at Calix who was staring as his laptop. 

" Love sick? My brother? That is impossible!" Emmy said with a laugh then stopped abruptly to have a confused facial expression then added, " Right?" 

Lion scoffed as he tilted his head in the direction where Calix was sitting facing the screen of his PC with great focus. 

" No, I mean who dares?! Who dares make my brother lose focus while in the main house like this?" Emmy said very puzzled because she knew her brother very well and the only time he had ever fallen in love was when the spy lady from their rival family made advances on Calix. Things did not end well and a war almost broke out between the two families but luckily the family heads handled the situation smoothly and they escaped the situation without losing much except for Calix's sense of humanity. Her brother lost interest in the opposite gender and dedicated his time to leading special teams on various dangerous missions from which he came back victorious. His work earned him the title of ruthless tactician because he would destory his opponents on every level possible from countering attacks to anticipating all their strategies and shuting them down.

The number thing Emmy respected about him was that when Calix was in the main house he would always be ready for action and he would be mission oriented from the moment he would enter the door. The main house was their meeting place. It was the mansion their family built specifically as a meeting place to discuss military related affairs, it was also the place they went to if they want to train for any mission. The place had the latest weapons and training facilities and so it was Emmy's and Calix's favorite spot since they enjoyed fighting. 

" Do you want to spar brother? " Emmy asked as she walked towards her brother who was still surrounded by shocked faces because of what he was busy with. 

Calix finally looked up from his PC and said, " Do you think she would think about rejecting me too?" 

" What? What are you talking about when I asked you to do what you love to do the most." Emmy asked sightly annoyed 

" This. Here." Calix said as she pointed to his PC and handed it over to Emmy

" What?" Emmy said as she took the PC and had a look and was so shocked at the contents displayed on the PC.

" Are you spying on someone? Is she an enemy you are getting intel on?" Emmy asked as she chose not to lose hope and believe that her brother would not be in love Lion said. 

" As if." Lion scoffed from his sitting point on the other side of the room 

" Shut up minion." Emmy said which made Lion laugh at her outburst.

" No, she is not an enemy. " one of the people in the room answered. He was a part of Calix's personal special force of soliders. 

" Yes, she is a potential." another said while nodding his head vigorously with eyes shining with a curious and amused glint 

" What potential? To be a part of the special forces? Are we recruiting already?" Emmy continued playing dumb. 

" Quit playing dumb, Em. The woman in that profile is Calix's soon to be fiancee, that is if she does not run away because of your brother's horrible personality." Lion said which made the soliders in the room want to tease their leader but they would not. No one was brave enough! 

" fiancee?! When did this happen? How come I do not know anything?" Emmy asked

" Our last mission at Areela." Lion said 

" Brother say something!" Emmy said as she looked at Calix who was now looking at the same contents as his PC on his phone.

" Sis, Do you think she will end up rejecting me as well?" Calix asked Emmy. His question amused a lot of the people present. Calix was looking over Alyssa's history that he asked Rain to gather for him. He had promised himself to not dig into her past but because of his past trauma he could not help it. 

" Are you serious?" Emmy asked incredulously.

" If you help me out with this situation, I will owe you one." Calix said to Emmy as he faced her.

"Well, in that case. Let us have a look." Emmy said quickly mainly because a favor from Calix was something she could not afford to miss. 

" Wow. The lady has surely rejected a lot of suitable suitors. She should be queen of rejections!" Emmy exclaimed which made the others quickly scramble and make their way to her to also have a look at their leader's future partner.

" I mean I would have taken bait for some of these guys here based on their profiles." Emmy added 

" Adam Seets from JR enterprise is a catch and the youngest one from this group, then there is Luke Miller, Ray Smith. All of them are legit, ideal dreamy types for women her age ... and mine of course but not even a single one was even spared a glance." Emmy said

" Are you sure she is the right person? I mean I do not even have confidence that my idiotic brother would stand a chance." emmy said as she looked at Lion

" Yep, she is the one alright. Do not ask me how because I would not be able to answer that despite being with your brother all time ." Lion said

" Well bro, my advice is as long as you do not make her cry you will not end up in the list of rejections you complied." Emmy said and Lion laughed.

" Cry?Why is crying important?" Calix asked 

" Well if you hurt her feelings before you even have the chance to ask her to be your partner it might make her reconsider. You are not the first catch to approach her after all." Emmy said 

" Well, that is not impossible. Since I have met her, I think I have hurt her feelings on countless occasions so ..." Calix said 

" Then just give up, I bet she is over you by now." Emmy said throwing her hands in the air. 

" Not a chance sis that is not fun at all. If I played by the book then I would not be living up to my name now would I ?" Calix said as his initial innocent look disappeared behind a very seductive smirk. 

" Cal, What are you planning?" Emmy asked

" Nothing. I just do not plan on letting her go that's all." Calix said with a straight face like what he said was the most average thing to say. Emmy felt a chill run down her spine because she knew this side of her brother very well. If he said it, then he meant it.
