attacked, Who was their target? part 1

" arlight then, if we did not have to know why did you not contact your families? Miss Hannah?" Dan asked 

" mmmm, we wanted to solve the situation on our own. We thought that we could not keep relying on our families. Plus you have seen how cool these two were when they sprung to action! It was so exhilarating to counter those rumors, especially considering that we would be caught and probably punished by our families. So yes, I feel like we grew stronger after dealing with such an ordeal on our own." Hannah replied. Unknown to the people present in the meeting room, Hannah's thoughts about the questions were completely different.It was not about gaining independence from their families rather the three girls wanted to avoid punishment. Being heiresses meant that if they made a mistake they would be heavily judged and there was always a cousin or two waiting for their downfall.

" Ahem, if you put it that way then I guess it is justifiable." Dan said as he fixed the position of his reading glasses. " However, it does not mean that we condone your actions. Dove cancel all associations with that illegal cyber site, Miss Alyssa withdraw your statement about suing the pepetrator, it won't do us any good." 

"Pardon?" The girls said all in unison from the shock they got after hearing Dan's demands. Calix was quiet throughout the exchange. 

" I will not repeat myself. Dove, they are your friends convince them and then get back to me with an answer. We have to get going now." Dan said as he stood from his chair.

Dan walked a bit then paused and calmly said, " it is for your own good. A lot of dangerous people are involved behind the scenes. Do as I say." 

" I am sorry Mr Park, aren't you being unreasonable right now?" Hannah exclaimed. 

" Whether I am unreasonable or not is not for you to decide. You have more pressing issues to focus on and be glad that we did not involve your family in this. As you know, out of the three of you, your family is known for their iron first hand and strictness." Dan replied 

" Come on, I will show you my favorite coffee place here as promised." He added while looking at Calix who simply got up without a word.

" I am afraid I can not do that." Alyssa said as the duo was about to exit the boardroom making them halt in their steps.

" And why not?" Dan asked as a mist covered his glasses mysteriously. 

" Because I just can not. When I say something, particularly a threat, I tend to stand with it the whole way so I am afraid I can not change that about myself." Alyssa said. To be honest she was fuming because of the dismissive attitude the two of them were showing particularly Dan who made such demands and gave Dove such a cold shoulder. Alyssa was not the only one feeling outraged, Hannah too felt that Dan was way too cold for a fiance, It was as though he was simply solving a business problem!

" Oh?" Calix said 

" Yes. Thank you for the meeting and showing that you care for our saftey and reputations, however we can handle it on our own." Alyssa said as she grabbed Dove's hand who was currently fiddling with her hands looking at the floor, she was sad.

" Let's go." Alyssa said as she looked at both Dove and Hannah. They all stood and went towards the door where Dan and Calix were standing. 

" It is for your own good!" Dan suddenly exclaimed 

" There is more to this world and these forces are not something your families can handle. So please just listen to us, I mean why else would the Marsha- ( wanted to call Calix using his military rank.)- \ahem, I mean Mr. Evans come here in person," he explained calmly

Silence. 

" I am afraid that is not a good enough reason for us. Please excuse us." Alyssa said, she took over the conversation and became the spokesperson. That is how she would be if she was really seething, she would not take anything lying down and since Dove who was their usual spokesperson was afraid of Dan, she would do the honors and fight for them. 

The girls moved to the door hand in hand with Dove in front, Hannah in the middle and Alyssa at the end. As Dove and Hannah past Calix and Dan made a way for them to pass but when Alyssa was about to pass Calix, Calix grabbed her hand gently making her halt in her steps. 

" Mr Park, please take the two ladies outside while I talk to this young lady right here," Calix said 

" I have nothing to say to you," Alyssa said 

" Watch it." Calix said sternly and Alyssa noticed for the first time ever that he was dead serious and the air around him screamed danger. 

" Alright. Let's go." Dan said ushering Hannah and Dove out of the room but the girls did not budge and looked at Alyssa.

" I will be fine. Wait for me outside." Alyssa finally said as she somehow felt that she would not be able to win against Calix this time. 

Clank. The others closed the door behind them as they exited the room. 

" Do not be stubborn about this." Calix said calmly

" And if I am?" Alyssa retorted 

Calix then moved slowly towards Alyssa who moved backwards with every step Calix took towards her. They like this until Alyssa was about to have her back against the glass window when Calix suddenly pulled her towards him and fell to the floor and then glass shuddered. Alyssa screamed, her heart was beating so loud it felt like it was in her ears instead of her chest. She had her eyes closed but she could imagine the pieces of glass that were falling around them.

On the other side due to the noise, Dove and Hannah wanted to enter the room but they were blocked by Dan and his men. " Nothing will happen to your friend, Mr Evans will protect her and my duty is to protect you two." He said as he blocked their way.

After the noise died down, Alyssa attempted to get up but she could not because Calix was on top of her and not moving one bit. 

" Hello? Mr Evans? Are you okay? Can you hear me? Mr Evans?" Alyssa called out but he did not respond and that is when she mastered all her strength to push him aside and after a lot of attempts she finally succeeded. 

Now hovering over Calix, Alyssa attempted to wake him up again and assess him according to the ABCs emergency management. She check his breathing and he was breathing and his pulse was steady.

" Mr Evans? Hello? Can you hear me?" Alyssa said as she tapped his shoulders but Calix did not bulge. She decided to call him one more time before managing him as an unconcious patient.

" Hello?Ca-Calix?" Alyssa said with a tinge of shyness. She covered her eyes, which prebented her from seeing the smile Calix had on his face. Alyssa yelped as Calix pulled her to his chest leaving a small distance between their faces. Calix looked straight into her eyes and when Alyssa tried to move he would tighten his hold. Alyssa looked away by turning her head and Calix use his other hand to turn her face back to his direction leaving her no choice but to look at him. They were so close that Alyssa could feel his breath on her cheeks which made her blush.

" You are awake?" She whispered sounding unsure of herself 

" It took you long enough to call me by my name. I was waiting for that." Calix said to her and he gently brushed her hair. Calix was fully conscious from the beginning he just wanted to toy with Alyssa and make her worry a bit so he was playing dead but could not help but smile at Alyssa's behavior.

Before she could respond, Calix's phone rang making Alyssa jump out of his embrace and mover ten steps back. Calix on the other side was annoyed by the interruption but he answered the call nonetheless. 

" What?" Calix said 

" You were just attacked?" Lion's voice sounded on the other side 

" Yes and?" Calix asked 

" We just wanted to make sure that you are alright, idiot." Em's voice also sounded on the other side of the call

" I am fine." Calix said in a monotone. " In fact you disturbed me." He said as he shot a playful smirk at Alyssa who turned crimson red.

" Whatever, should I send people over to your side? Others are already investigating the areas around you." Lion said 

" No need." Calix said. To be honest, he was so caught up in their situation that he forgot to survey the area after the attack.

" I will tell you when to send them over. " He said then ended the call 

" Now then, where were we?" Calix continued to tease Alyssa who stood up immediately and said, " We should go outside. I bet they are worried about us." She said this as she ran for the door making Calix laugh.
