Before you read this story, there are some things I'd like to get out of the way.
Firstly, the beginning of the story is very fast paced, and it's supposed to be. Depending on when you read this, I might not even have written up to the point where things start to slow down.
What I'm trying to say is, if you feel the pacing is off, I apologize, but try to get used to it, since that's just how I pace things, and maybe at some point, the pacing will feel more normal, either because it became more normal or because you just got used to it.
2nd. There is a broad world I have thought up and it's going to take a lot of chapters to get through it all. However, those chapters won't all be in one book.
This story is about Merca, and though the narration might switch the character focused on in a given chapter here and there, it is at the end of the day his story.
It's a story about his journey as he collects treasures and finds out about this world I'm writing. The readers and even I as the author find out about that world alongside him, through all the twists and turns.
In order to collect treasure, one must be strong. So the first several dozens of chapters are just him leveling up, with some treasure collection here and there.
After that is when the title of this book, treasure hunting!, really comes into play.
The finale of the book is mostly written from the start, and it'll be a journey to see how the main character gets there.
So, follow me on this journey, and maybe, just maybe, if you absolutely fall in love with the world I've created by the end of it, I'll write another book in this world, with another main character, and more lore and intrigue and things to get excited about, and you can read it too.
This is the first book in this canon, although it's events won't be the first in the timeline across all the future books.
I hope that by reading my books, I can bring as much joy to you, the reader, as writing these books brings to me.
And (when I get around to writing them), do skip the rest of the volume 0 chapters for no spoilers. If you still read 'em...you do you, I guess.
Have fun, and...
Thank you for reading.
