Night of the ball

'Finally finally' he thought as he saw her for the first time. Yes he saw her back for the whole night to the point were he had memorised her appearance from the back. But he did not expect what he saw why was it that at this point in time he had to see someone this ethereal? It was shock after shock for him tonight.

He knew that she was a moon fairy descendant by the smell of her blood. But this why? His heart was banging powerful and strong like the beat of a drum the minute his eyes met her amber streaked ones. She had long wavy hair that looked even more like pure gold under the brightly lit moonlight. She was just beautiful, stunning and the list could go on forever, soul taking to the point were if his body had to surrender to give her his soul then he would do it right this minute.

Auroras view of this man was very clear. She could see that he was dressed in fine clothing. But what made her breath hitch was the minute she made eye contact with this man. She was staring at sapphire diamonds that was buried in the deep coal was she dreaming?, is that why the lights had deliberately dimmed? and the purposeful moon shone down. That too so bright that she could see rare sapphires glistening under the moonlight.

She was beyond speechless at one point she thought that she was in an illusional dimension. And he smiled as he found her reaction all to amusing. He would not mind doing the honours of taking her out of her 'dream'.

"Good evening Madam" spoke a strong masculine voice yet with a soft subtleness. He has a broad smile on his face showing some of his straight teeth with slightly elongated canines.

why was it that something within her was telling her that his deep kohl eyes were the ones that were staring at her all this time which could be impossible right? Aurora noticed this and quickly stopped her observing investigation. "Good evening, do you possibly know what time it is?" Aurora didn't want to waste any more time just in case her aunt was actually looking all over for her.

"It is 9:30 to be precise, may I ask what you are exactly doing in the depths of this maze?" The grand duke asked 'unknowingly'

"Thank you, I was just exploring the maze is there a problem?" Aurora spoke just in case she was not allowed to be here.

Another idea came in this dukes head "There is no problem. However I came to let everyone in the maze and garden know that the ball will be coming to an end soon and to guide any guests in the maze. His interesting excuse so he could share a walk beside her.

This made her jolt slightly thinking that her aunt might truly be waiting for her. But little did she know that this duke had just lied to her. The ball would last until midnight it was far from even finishing. So she decided to let this man take the lead as she followed him.

"Do you not like the ball madam?" He spoke whilst walking side by side with her. Aurora did not speak. why was this man even talking to her? But she kept her manners and answered curtly "The ball is entertaining for some and lavish for others" but that did not answer his question about HER.

As they continued walking towards the end Aurora realised she did not even know this strange man's name as she spoke to him. After all he did lead her through the maze until the end very safely without any hidden intent.

She stopped just before the exit of the maze Excuse me for not inquiring this any earlier, what is your name?" The duke spoke "my name is Jason and your name is?"

"Aurora"
