Chapter 58

For Ignum, what he was feeling right now was something dragons of his caliber rarely experience.

Pain.

His scales could handle almost anything a mortal can throw at him!

The machete was grating the inside of his eye socket.

*ROOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!*

He roared out loud in agony before gathering all the surrounding mana to help reinforce his body, then reached out to grab his assailant.

Thanks to what Jack was using right now, it helped him to barely dodge the large claw that was half the size of his body!

All while ripping out a chunk of the, now, ruined eye.

The temperature rose quickly around Ignum as the wrath filled his mind and actions causing him to ignite the mana around him!

Jack landed on the ground some distance away, already creating his greatest weapon, which was the railgun.

It was the third upgrade after improving the plasma spear cannon.

He wanted to end this right then and there!

Only for the fire dragon to show one reason why both humans and demons fear dragons of this world.

Their mana control rivaled that of spirits and the elementals as they can seize control of mana, and if they were better than their opponent, they could siphon their mana as well!

Thus upon glaring at Jack, Ignum used this ability to destabilize his foe's mana before using his fastest yet powerful method of attack.

A fire breath, but unlike the red glow around him, this attack was made of dark bluish flames!

But in this surge of fury, he had forgotten about his other opponent since there was an opening Zuy'kep who was fighting through pure instinct, quickly struck the side of Ignum, shifting the already damaged insides this not only interrupted the fire breath but also made the attack splash onto the ground before receiving Jack's attack that followed!

*BOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!*

Once the bluish flames touched the ground, it sparked into an explosion that was comparable to a nuke, and the effects grew even more deadly thanks to Jack's attack that seemed to mix with the volatile breath!!

Everyone within range got harmed.

The dragons, the nearby ruins that were now vaporized, the surrounding trees, the clouds in the sky above them had disappeared, Jack, who was now sprawled on the ground looking like charred meat, the fire dragon himself wasn't spared from his own attack due to his internal injuries. At the same time, his natural affinity weakened the damage it still affected him greatly.

Twilight, who clutched his throat with his claws, was gasping for air thanks to breathing in the incredible heat that ruined his nostrils and lungs, while magic helped somewhat. If he doesn't receive treatment soon, this would be the end of this dragon!

An interesting fact about dragons while their scales can brush off most damage, areas that aren't protected by scales may be a few hundred times more resilient than humans, but this was still incapable of handling dangerous amounts of mana.

Jerribel, the water dragon, was lucky. Not only did she manage to fend off most of the blast, but also only received some light injuries.

Jerribel's element made her into one of the best healers but at the same time someone that never got to join any battles throughout her life until now.

Thanks to being the best healer, she was assigned to this group despite being a young dragon and was only half a year older than Hok'rap.

Upon recovering somewhat, the water dragon moved to Twilight, who was near death and already breaking the scales on his chest from clawing at it in his struggle to breathe and used her magic to help him recover.

Jerribel's magic worked almost immediately, soothing the pain and restoring the damaged tissue to its natural state.

Still, thanks to the natural resistances of a dragon, the recovery speed was reduced to one-tenth of its effects.

Twilight's eyes suddenly widened as he looked behind the water dragon before trying to say something, but this only served to bring him more pain and aggravated the internal injuries he was suffering from.

Jerribel tried to soothe the dragon by saying this while being ignorant of what her patient was looking at.

"it's alright now. Just sit back and relax. You'll recover in no time!"

But even then, Twilight finally managed to clear his throat before saying what he wanted to say while pointing behind her.

"Vengeance WILL BE MINE!!! If you want to get in my way...Hehe!"

Jack currently lacks the materials to create another railgun, so he can only use his high-frequency elongated claws before raising it above the fear-stricken dragon and slashing downward!

But nothing comes about that easily as a bloodied white dragon landed on him!

While Lumen's injuries hindered his every movement, he was still more than capable of attacking with a simple body slam!

The blast ate most of his mana away thanks to resisting the stupid actions of their leader.

Which lead to him wrestling against this bizarre demon that was growing more powerful as the fight went on!

What lumen didn't know was that his blood was helping Jack upgrade all of his specs, from changing his blood into mana containers to increasing his overall resilience.

But the main factor was Zuy'kep. Thanks to his body being mostly under the control of the nanobots that invaded his body, it provided all of the necessary data to improve his physique from defenses to increased strength!

While the nanobots had the data, it was hard to synthesize the materials to match the earth dragon's body; thus, the process took some time compared to what would've happened if he...

Lumen and jack would exchange a punch as they rolled around, trying to prevent the other from having a chance at creating a powerful spell.

Well, that was most Lumen since he was trying to buy time for Jerribel to heal Twilight while trying to force his adversary down.

On the other hand, Jack was trying to assimilate as much strength as possible as his body was no longer human size, nor was it demon size.

His height was slowly reaching that of Ignum's!

Lumen was confused as they fought, dragons have unique mana signatures that only other dragons could see, yet his enemy was starting to emit such a feeling for some odd reason!

So he tried to restrain Jack as best as he could, finally wrapping his tail around his legs and impaling one of Jack's shoulders into the rock with one claw before holding down the other arm as they leaned against a boulder with the nano suit user sitting up.

Lumen growled a little as fatigue was catching up to him.

It was then that he posed his question with his maw ready to chomp down.

"what the hell are you!? Why do you have a dragon's mana within you!? Answer me, or I'll rip your face off!"

Jack's visor opened up again, exposing a mad sneer before he laughed out loud; it was quickly cut off by a headbutt since the dragon wanted answers, breaking the boulder in two!

Jack rolled his jaw a bit before smiling again, but he asked a question of his own.

"What will you do with the information? hunt down my 'parents' or something?"

Jack chuckled at the question, since his parents shouldn't be in this world... or were they?

But Lumen said something weird.

"no, that would be pointless. I was just curious for the moment, but by the rules set by our dragon god, everyone related to you will be sought out by other dragons!"

"Why would they seek out those related to me?"

Jack blurted out the question unintentionally since it was related to those that he cared about.

Lumen grinned widely, showing his teeth as he replied.

"Why else than to purge those who weren't blessed by our god!"

This dragon's words were laced with sadistic intentions and insanity as his tail crushed jack's legs!

"Anyone that bears a dragon's bloodline must be blessed, or they are flith that should not exist!"

At the last part of his words, Lumen opened his mouth wide before trying to bite Jack's head off.

But he was prepared for this moment as one of the dragon's abilities became available to him.

A dragon's breath!

With the mouth opened wide and exposing his weakness, Jack immediately fired his newly gained ability that was compressed beyond normal means thanks to his Nano suit.

*SPLAT*

The effects were brutal and powerful, way better than a bazooka as Lumen's head got blasted off before his body fell onto Jack's.

Still, the winner did wait for anything else before absorbing the corpse as the flesh, bones, and blood served to give more upgrades to the nanobots, making them capable of dismantling a dragon's body within a minute!

But even then, there was too much to process.

Having three dragons go against him and his new 'companion,' Jack decided to make a break for it using Zuy'kep to escape as twilight was already healed and guarding Ignum, who was now under the care of Jerribel.

The earth dragon was still injured pretty badly despite the help of the nanobots, So Jack could only scowl at them before getting the help of the earth dragon then submerged into the ground.

This was necessary as judging from the looks of the other dragons, and they haven't realized the changes his body had gone through like lumen.

This was the best time to escape for now and prevent Katherine, her mother, and her aunt from getting hunted by these dragons.

One thing for sure, that dragon god or whatever, will also be on his to kill list!
