Chapter 27 sudden chances, upgrades, heart sinking notification!

the Armored undead tried escaping that their area as it was a kill zone, however, jack wasn't going to let it be easy for them so he fired a round from his pistol that could be considered a powered-up version of a desert eagle as it used .50 caliber rounds and one bullet can destroy a human's arm from its recoil!

the effects on his arm were obvious, pain started enveloping his arm as there were small pieces of his nano suit that scattered about trying to reduce the damage from the recoil meaning that he could fire 3 or 4 more shots before his arm becomes useless for a while something that he wasn't keen of having with the dire situation at hand!

But at least it made one of the Armored undead to go flying back into the range of the mouth of the large serpent as the whole area shook as a ripple of concrete ground moved under all of them knocking everyone in range to the ground as it managed to consume 4 of the Armored Undead aka A.U. in this single chomp taking a portion of the road creating a large a deep crater.

The large winged serpent flew into the air before leaving as if letting the young get a chance to hunt.

while the A.U. got to their feet then rushed into different directions trying to avoid the aftermath as there were still the thousands of little winged serpents that managed to get a couple of them as these winged creatures showed them why they should be feared!

their two 'meals' were brought up into the air before the sound of clank and metal ripping followed, the two A.U. were stripped of their armor in one swift action of the combined efforts of these little yet dreadful serpents as the Two undead made a final battle as one reactivated his plasma cannon in making it shift into its spear mode before trying to cleave through their numbers, while his efforts were commendable it was still futile as the winged monster all charged at him as if his chance to fight was given now it was time to...

Ȩ̵͍̬͚͚̹̲̜̲͈̈̿̌̽͗̇̄̚͝Ą̵̱̩̜͈̻̱̈́̀̈́Ț̴̫̈́̎̿̂͠͝!̷̡̨͎̼̻̈̾!̸̨̛͍͆̉͂͘

the sound of flesh and bone being torn in thousands to ways sending a shiver down everyone's spine while the other Undead that was about to suffer the same fate reached out to a piece of his armor that made a beep sound that made his brothers in arms to literally haul ass making a sprint away from the area.

while jack, on the other hand, used his Grappling hook to get a corpse of one of the A.U. before making his way to the mall thanks to his delay some of the little monsters were heading towards him as he unintentionally made the corpse he was trying to absorb into bait!

But his stubborn nature made him not abandon the corpse as the benefits it would bring was worth the trouble, by the time the corpse he nabbed reached him a large number of small winged snakes crashed into him knocking him down as the corpse touched his chest.

It gave him the boost in armor strength that he needed and to make things even better he can now a new option was unlocked on his research tree the armor can be made, upgraded, and customized!

This meant he would have another layer of defenses so the one-armed man quickly used the armor of the A.U. corpse to create his own!

the sudden 'expansion' of his body temporarily pushed the monsters away as Jack made another Plasma spear cannon since the other was already molten scrap metal, making it switch to its spear mode without the plasma before stabbing it into the ground as these monsters were brought here for another reason by him.

Jack released the charged skill he was preparing for a while now to prevent the little monsters from getting to him his sonic boom that stunned them for a few seconds yet that was enough.

he was, after all, bracing himself for one more thing...

The explosion!

*kaaaaAAAAAAAABOOOOOOOMMMMMM*

The explosion was so powerful that the number of these flying monsters weren't enough to completely stop it, as the force from it was ripping them to shreds and Jack's newly made spear was breaking to from trying to keep him in place, all of his meat shields were destroyed too.

but their corpses granted him a few much-needed upgrades, the corpses added a wing option to the suit, the poison they had increased his arsenal of poison, and the deadliness of his personalized zombie virus which may not be useful here in this world but if he manages to survive and move on to the next. heh!

the bonuses he gained to his 'passives' was 30% more to agility, 12% to his strength and 19% to his defenses, as for the undead he absorbed all it did was strengthen the upgrades that he already had received.

That explosion wiped out a good number of the winged snakes but it would certainly piss off the big and attract more problems, so he made his way to the mall that was in shambles hoping that the girls were alright.

it was something to see when Jack arrived as the group was talking and amongst themselves as Alice and her father were playing that hand game while the others were making their next plans on where to go.

With his new armored look, the group failed to recognize him at first as they pointed their guns at him about to give him a warning while Saeko dashed towards him like a hungry predator with her sword drawn before finally relaxing when they heard his voice that was in teasing tone.

"What's with that kind of welcome did I finally get so handsome that you don't recognize me?"

the majority of them lowered their guns while Saeko was the only one that kept charging before delivering a double flying kick knocking him to the ground easily facing up thanks to how tired he was!

and the katana she had sunk into the floor near his head as Saeko had a very scary smile on her face as she asked him.

"what took you so long!?"

while Shizuka...

She wasn't with them!

jack replied reluctantly.

"i was busy dealing with the big guy from earlier, then dealt with an armored zombie much like the armor i am currently in, before the Big guy from earlier 'revived' stronger than ever whooping my ass into the ground literally followed by more armored zombies that which by the way were armed Fucking plasma cannons, then another big ass monster came along with a bunch of flying monsters that numbered in thousands before one of the armored zombies activated some kind of bomb that wiped out the majority of the monsters, so yeah, sorry I'm late, missing an arm now, tired and hungry! and can you please get off of me?"

Saeko bit her lower lip with a downcast look before getting off of him then helped him up as the exoskeleton retreated into his body via nanobots a really cool trick causing all of them there to gasp from the extent of the damage that he suffered as the suit was acting kind of funky right now.

Before the Suit screen showed him another message that made his heart sink.
