Prologue Part 2: Pass On

"What! ha.. ha.. Where am I?" Riel woke with a start panting heavily in confusion. He soon calmed down and looked around and when he did it shocked him. He felt like he was floating, he was surrounded by a completely white space. No floor, no walls, or sky just pure white stretching into infinity. "Whats happening? why can't I move?" Riel was at a loss as he looked at the infinite nothingness, he wondered how he ended up here in the first place.

"Relax boy, you don't need to wonder anymore your dead after all." An ancient voice echoed from the distance.

Riel was shocked but in that moment he remembered everything. "That's right.. I died in that hospital bed. I guess I should be grateful, I had nothing left on earth anyway. He gave a self-deprecating smile. "So, is this heaven or hell?!" He shouted into the nothingness.

At first he didn't hear a response but after a few minutes a monotone voice sounded seemingly from everywhere.

"There is no heaven or hell, only reincarnation... and oblivion. Only the strong gain peace and it is also the strong that dictate the suffering that you humans know as hell. For the weak, there isn't a choice. Their fate is decided by those with strength. Had you been anyone else you wouldn't even be here to ask this question but, I quite like you boy."

Riel was shocked at this revelation but analyzing it further he realized it made sense after all, on earth everyone put their respective gods above themselves if they truly believed in them. In a way this could be interpreted that their many supernatural feats cowed the humans into believing they were above them. That however was simply there strength.

"It seems you understand the concept, very good." The voice said slowly.

"Did he read my mind?" Riel thought in confusion. "Yes I get it, but i still don't understand why i'm here." Said Riel still confused about this whole situation." You are here because I want you to be, but as far as why is concerned to explain that i'll have to ask you a question. On your deathbed, did you truly mean those final words you spoke?"

For a moment Riel was silent but as he remembered his final words all the sorrow of his life before death came flooding back at once for a moment he couldn't even speak. He collected himself and his expression changed from sadness to raw determination. "Yes, I meant it! I wont be lied to again, I wont be fooled by anyone, I want to control my own life; not even god himself should be able to dictate whether I live or die! He shouted with all his heart as his voice echoed throughout the white space.

A light chuckle sounded seemingly from everywhere at once within the void. Suddenly a young man appeared before Riel. He had long white hair a foot away from reaching the back of his heel. Even though this was the case his appearance was very young, he didn't appear a day over 15 he looked even younger than Riel himself before he died. He was wearing a robe so dark light itself was being constantly absorbed by it. To Riel however, none of these things were the most shocking of his features.

Gazing into the young man's eyes was terrifying. His Irises where deep purple in color and surrounding his pupils were blinding white septograms constantly spinning yet always keeping their form as he observed Riel with a slight smile on his face.

Riel felt completely naked in front of this boys gaze he felt that even his deepest secrets would be seen through as if his entire body was being cut open and analyzed, he had the feeling that his very existence was being decided at that moment.

"Bold words boy haha good that is why i called you here. Now let me tell you a story and once I finish you can decide your own future."

Riel decided it best not interrupt so he just nodded silently.

"Over the eons I've gone by many names but only one thing has remained the same, I am the eyes of judgment. With my own strength I've earned the right to judge nearly all of creation. In the eyes of the humans in your world i guess the closest name you would be able to understand in relation to my power, is Yama. I however don't preside over merely souls But almost all of creation."

Riel was wide eyed at this statement and he immediately wanted to interrupt but looking at the young man's cold expression he decided against it.

"I however, wasn't always this way when I was born the first universe in all of creation had just been formed it was known as The Sacred God Realm. Too many life forms had far to much power than they knew what to do with. Of course with power also comes ambition. Many wanted to rule the realm for their own reasons and of course with conflicting views war is sure to follow. Galaxies were destroyed in the crossfire and nearly all of the gods perished along with the Sacred God Realm almost being ripped apart." Said the young man with a solemn voice.

"I was young then, I didn't have the power to change the direction the realm was headed in. My world was plunged into chaos; there was no order or balance to sustain it. Everyone was blinded by their own greed for power and conquest, it felt like I was the only one who could see it but, I was far to weak to change anything. That was until 'he' appeared before me. He heard my thoughts about the state of the realm and how i wanted to change it."

The young man seemed to be lost in thought for a moment but then he began to speak once more.

"He told me he didn't have a name; as far as history was concerned he wasn't even apart of it. He did tell me one thing though." The boy laughed aloud.

"What did he say!" Riel exclaimed not able to contain himself in the slightest this story was far to riveting. The young man had a slight smirk as he observed Riel's excitement nevertheless he continued.

"He told me that he was half of the beginning. He gave me the eyes and said it was my choice what they became and I made them judgment; 7 pointed star for the 7 sins that is my way." Now the time has come for me to pass them on. Out of the countless life forms spread across the many planes I chose you Riel; do you accept?" With that said the young man paused for a moment and stared at Riel with an even more solemn look than before.

To Riel all of this was too sudden he didn't understand much of the story told to him he was just a mortal after all. He didn't really understand the concept of godhood or what this power really meant. But he knew that he didn't want to be weak, he knew that he wanted to be able to control his own life and at this moment he was being offered not only reincarnation but also these eyes. He was given the chance at a new life but it wasn't due to his strength at all, he was just an ordinary mortal at a crossroads. He knew the choice he had in his heart so with little hesitation he nodded in acceptance.

Of course you do, very rarely will people refuse an offer to gain strength but I must tell you something my predecessor told me before we begin. I do not care what you become or the choices you make god or demon you can chose your path it just so happens that I chose judgment. When it comes to good or evil a judge isn't on a clear path but know this. He paused for a second. Walk your path to the end no matter what because with these eyes if you have no conviction no matter what you are given it will turn into nothing.

With that said the young man lifted his palm toward his face and a quiet suction force seeped from within. As he did this the color in his eyes along with the septograms slowly faded and a rainbow colored light was being formed within his palm as the light within his eyes slowly turned dim.

Observing this Riel was shocked to the core and as he saw the light in the young mans eyes fade completely he felt an inexplicable sadness deep within his soul. Now the young man's eyes had completely turned black and the Rainbow colored light within his hand had reached full capacity.

The young man looked at it for a moment and smiled, without a word he directly threw it toward Riel's eyes and the light was quickly absorbed by them until there was nothing left. his once brown eyes transformed to an electrifying gray and under each of his pupils two small open black circles formed.

Riel felt the change immediately but he couldn't understand it completely all he knew was that at this moment his life had changed forever he would never be the same and from this point on his journey would truly begin.

Observing Riel's eyes the young man gave a light smile as he once more lifted his palm. "Its time for you to go Riel remember my words, without conviction you will never control your fate."

The moment the young man lifted his hand Riel's world went black.

Looking on as Riel's soul form completely faded away a tired smile finally dawned the young man's lips and his crystal clear skin became much paler than it was before.

"So you chose a mortal to inherit the eyes? This is a mistake and you know it; he wont be able to change the calamity we face." A cold feminine voice sounded from the void as she instantly appeared before the young man. She was an earth shattering beauty, So beautiful a man would nearly have no choice but to grovel before her in worship.

The young man laughed mockingly at her statement. "Just a mortal you say, I thought I was the only one who lost vision but it appears you have gone blind as well if you think him a mere mortal. Its been a long time since 'he' died but it appears his soul has finally regained its form I believe him more than anyone is worthy to inherit the eyes, if you don't think so as well no one is worthy then."

The women was shocked by his his statement especially at the mention of that individual who's soul all but scattered to the wind so long ago now she understood the young mans words; she said nothing just nodded silently as she stared at the void were the boy had disappeared in awe and reverence.

"If it's really 'him' we might have a chance.." She muttered to herself softly.

That ends the prologue for the story.
