THE LARGE CASTLE 1

We continued our ride in silence. Neither of us said a thing to each other after what the king had done. My brain was still trying to process what had happened. He had killed both women without lifting a finger.

I couldn't understand how he did it. All I saw him do was talk and laugh with them.

Now more than ever all I wanted was to leave and stay as afr away from this man as I can be. But even I knew that was impossible. Killing those women was too much, maybe a punishment would have been better.

We rode through the whole day without stopping. I slept along the way and woke up a few times to when the carriage experienced turbulence that shook me. The king didn't even glance at me through out the ride, it was almost as if I didn't exist to him.

As the day wound down to the night, the nocturnal forest and its second shift started to stir. Fireflies danced on the way showing off their light and making the once-dark forest glow.
