With a burst of power and energy, Ekko sang the last verse of the chorus, and all the moving pieces of the song Ekko had on loop completely disappeared only leaving Ekko's voice reverberating in the background.

Ekko continued to strum his guitar finishing the final part of the whole solo.

And finally, with one final strum, the song was over.

Ekko took a deep breath and smiled.

" Not bad..."

As Ekko was finishing of his session in the studio, Ahri who was by herself right now, was gently brushing her tails while thinking of ways to approach Ekko about her proposal.

" Should I just go outright and say it, or maybe should I get to know him a bit better and become his friend before popping the question..."

' Wait why does it sound like I'm planning to propose to Ekko.' Ahri thought funnily enough.

As Ahri was preoccupying her head with ways to get to know Ekko better she suddenly got a knock at her door.

Surprised Ahri thought that maybe it was Cana and hid her tails and ears.

Even though basically everyone in the Inn now knew she and her friends weren't exactly human, she still wasn't comfortable enough going around the inn in her true form, but hopefully, in the future, she will.

" Hey, Cana how can I help...Ekko!!" Ahri said in surprise as she didn't think she would come face to face with him so soon.' Wait isn't this the perfect opportunity to ask...but kai'sa did say I should wait a few more days.'

" Hey, sorry if I interrupted anything important I just needed to say two things. One I hope everything has been satisfactory, is your room okay."

" Ah yes, everything is perfect, to be honest, we feel like this place should have been way more expensive than what you're renting it out for." Ahri said as she looked at Ekko.

" Ye well, I have enough money to live a decent life so I just thought that price was good enough." Ekko said lying through his teeth, he didn't even decide the price of the rent, the system did.

" And the second thing..." Ahri reminded him.

" Oh, ye...are you perhaps busy right now." Ekko asked.

" No not particularly, why ???" Ahri asked with a cute head tilt and Ekko might have imagined it but he could have sworn he just saw a pair of fox ears on Ahri's head point up in attention.

Ekko beamed and asked." Wanna see something cool."

"...Wow" That's the only thing Ahri could think to say as she saw the whole recording studio.

" My first thoughts exactly. I remembered that you guys were a band and apparently my old man was a music fanatic so I wanted to leave this part of the Inn as a surprise...so what do you think."

"What do I think...what do I think, I think this whole place is awesome!!" Ahri said with clear excitement in her voice as she ran around the many rooms, exploring all the things inside.

" Ekko this place is amazing...would you mind if me and my friends use this place for our practice sessions, I'll even pa..."

" No need, you can use this place twenty-four hours a day. Just make sure to clean up after yourselves if you bring any snacks or drinks."

" Don't worry, we won't." Ahri assured Ekko before noticing something on one of the monitors.

" Huh? a recording, Ekko did you just record something."

" Huh, oh ye not too long ago actually, just testing out the equipment and having a bit of fun with it, why wanna have a listen."

" Yes, I really wanna hear what you made." Ahri said in anticipation and Ekko having no reason to refuse sat on one of the spinny chairs and Ahri grabbed one herself and sat right beside Ekko.

" I'm no professional like you girls are so don't grill me too hard if it isn't any good." Ekko joked and Ahri laughed while reassuring him." Don't worry if it's bad then I'll help see if there's anything you can improve upon."

" Alrighty then, and here we go..." Ekko said and the recording he had just done not too long ago started to play through the massive speakers.

Ahri closed her eyes and listened to the music while Ekko hummed to the melody right next to her. The longer Ahri listened to the recording the more impressed she was at Ekko's talent.

She did find some problems with Ekko's vocals and knew that even though he was talented he hadn't really trained his voice.

When the chorus started however Ahri opened her eyes wide and looked at Ekko who looked back at her and bobbed his head to the music.

Ahri continued to stare at Ekko and the more she did the more resolve she had to ask him about her proposal.

When the recording was over Ekko turned to the dazed Ahri and asked" So what do you think."

" I think...it was amazing Ekko, you have the talent for playing and singing, though I did notice that your voice was a little off-pitch a few times.

You were belting a lot throughout the song so you could easily strain and fatigue your vocals that way. I have a few exercises that could help you strengthen your vocals if you ever want to practice."

Ahri said and Ekko nodded in appreciation.

Though he didn't have to worry about straining or fatiguing himself, he appreciated Ahri's warning.

The two then started to talk about music and Ekko learned that Ahri was actually a famous pop star in Korea but hadn't put out any music in some years as she's been building K/da the girl group she and Evelyn had decided to make.

" Actually I have a song I've been working on, I've got the initial beginning done but I haven't found the right melody or beat, do you mind having a listen and trying out a few samples with me."

Ahri asked and Ekko having nothing better to do thought it might be fun and agreed.

Ahri beamed and told Ekko to wait there for her as she ran back to her room and grabbed her songbook before sprinting back to the studio.

Once she got back the pair immediately got to work downloading samples and buying the best music programming software.

Ekko and Ahri immediately traded ideas and opinions as slowly but surely a song that will one day be remembered as K/day's beginning was born.

After 4 hours of working Ahri and Ekko played the fruits of their labor, it was only the first 30 seconds but even then It still filled Ahri with confidence that this would be a hit.

" Mhh, I think we should add some more percussion on that second verse, but other than that I like the beginning." Ekko said and Ahri agreed.

After working tirelessly for four hours straight Ahri was dead tired and leaned back on the chair.

Ekko got up from his seat and went to the mini fridge to get a cold refreshment. After coming back Ekko handed Ahri the cold can and she accepted it with a thank you.

" You really are amazing you know that Ekko." Ahri suddenly said surprising Ekko but he shook his head and replied.

" Not as amazing as you, you're the professional here not me...

Hey, you don't have to answer if you don't want to but when we were talking before, it sounded like you were doing pretty well for yourself when you were going solo...

So why stop your singing carer to create a band." Ekko asked and Ahri smiled while looking down at the can she was now clasping in her hands.
